What a beautiful initiative put on by @tarabosch and the @snackish crew ♡

This Thanksgiving, 400 moms and families in need got a full turkey dinner and all the goodies delivered right to their home, all around the Vancouver area.

Hundreds of volunteers, thousands of hours, lots of fun and open hearts, @hoochybooch Kristin and I absolutely loved being part of this event ❤️

As someone who grew up going to the food bank, this hit me hit in the heart.

Thanks for caring and looking out for those in need, Tara it means a lot and the families were SO GRATEFUL 🫶

I cant wait to join again next year. 🦃

Can we all stop editing ourselves when it comes to our relationship to God? and I say this for myself too…

Why does it feel so loaded to talk about God?
Why does there seem to be so many rules around it?

Follow along as I unpack my uncomfortable confusions

Woooo! Super nervous to share this but my nervous system needs this. To build my courage and strength thru actually doing the thing vs just sitting around and thinking about

I grew up Christian, went to Christian camp and was in youth group, but I never could grasp who was God and how do I have a relationship with him

Then after a life changing car ride home last December, it all started to fall into place. I could feel him, so I just kept going

I’ve kept this quiet from most people in my life as I feel the name God comes with so much context and rules that are not mine

I’m figuring it out. That is what God is asking of me.
To let it all go and follow his lead.
To have faith and trust 🙏🏻 Amen

Not sure why these captions are overlapping but oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lemon balm is apart of the mint family (looks a lot like mint too) and grows rampantly if left alone. We never planted this and it is abundant in our yard 🍃

It smells like a soft blend of both lemon & mint, it is lovely

After all these years of watching it grow i’m finally trying my hand at making a tincture 💁🏼‍♀️ by @notyourbasicboochie

When inspiration hits 🍃

Funny enough I was scrolling and came across a natural bug repellent for kiddos and I was so happy to see I had all the ingredients on hand + in the garden

So I set out to try it out

yarrow * lemon balm * lavender infused in witch hazel (and a little bit of gin cuz I ran out of witch hazel 😉) I will later add drops of cedarwood, lavender and geranium essential oil that each work wonders on gentle skin

This will be a short infusion — 2 weeks, held in a dark place and shaken once a day

Ready in time for the second half of summer
We’ll see how it goes

Am I winging this? Yes!
But I love herbs, and I love making healing things with my hands, straight from my own garden

I’ll keep you posted if it works 🙌🏻 by @notyourbasicboochie

I’ve been taking stock of how my body feels when I’m feeling anxious. Stomach cramps, brain fog and just an overall feeling of overwhelm.

And then I do the thing…
And it all melts away.
And I’m glad that I pushed myself.

I often think it would be easy to get caught up in the experience of feeling anxious about something.
To have that feeling mean that I’m “not on the right path” or that “this isn’t for me”

I’m still learning, and that often means sitting with the discomfort — and leaning in anyway — because this is who I am now.

This is where accomplishment, self-reliance, and confidence are actually built. In the gritty details

There’s a saying that “if it were easy, everyone would do it” and that’s what I’m taking with me today.

Just because I’m feeling anxious, overwhelmed, foggy doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t show up. It means that I should lean in. Continue to show up as my authentic self and get the data.

It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it

Thank you so much to @experiencebykate for the wonderful interview experience this afternoon @hoochybooch brewery and to @juliebenardphotography for capturing the moment taken in Hoochy 'Booch Kombucha by @notyourbasicboochie

In June of 2020 Liam and decided to go surprise my dad (and mom) for Father’s day
I had gotten an intuitive nudge that i needed to go that year
the world was upside down
I had no idea how few of these i had left

I had planned a virtual father’s day breakfast for 1030am. We would meet online with my parents, my sister and her family who lived in England (their dinner time LOL) and my husbands dad

We woke at 430 and drove to Lake Country, arriving just after 1030am
I had told everyone we’d be a few minutes late cuz I needed to run out and “grab some bacon” .. it was all part of the the surprise

We pulled into my parents driveway and I logged into the zoom meeting, with my camera off and you can see what happened in the video ❤️ An intimate moment between the four of us

I remember shaking I was so excited to finally be surprising my parents the way they always did and the way my sister had quite a few years prior — it was kind of “our thing” and I was finally joining the club

Who knows what we had for breakfast
Who knows what we talked about
but i remember the feeling
I felt so so happy to be there
My father and his tears of joy, something I understand so much more now that I’m a mama
His laughter still rings thru my ears

I love you dad and my god I miss you everyday
Our lives keep going and we forever carry you forward in our hearts

I used to think I could never have my “ideal body”, as if that ideal actually existed; and most importantly that if it existed, that I could do it in a healthy way

Pregnancy and postpartum stretched this the most for obvious reasons.

I remember sitting there in my newly postpartum body, after birthing our beautiful daughter in our bathtub, knowing how sacred it is to not only have a daughter but how important it was for me to heal my own wounding around my self image so that she would never see me that way, and most importantly never see herself that way

I wasn’t sure how the journey would look for me

And then 10 months later, I got pregnant with my boy. And here I was still postpartum and newly pregnant again

Surrender.

Motherhood and womanhood asks so much of us, and surrendering got me through

Dropping the lies I’d been told about women’s bodies
Dropping the shaming, the dieting, the forfeiting of joy — all to reach some ideal that doesn’t, quite frankly, truly exist

What does exist is MY ideal
MY way of coming home to my body

The body I had tortured for most of my life.
My body that gifted me the blessings of having 2 healthy babies, born at home

My beautiful body that bent, contorted and yet still always showed up

This latest part of my journey took less than 6 months, and also my whole life.

And it doesn’t stop here
This is who I am now
This is me. This is my ideal
And I’m so freaking grateful to be here in this moment

I’m so happy I made it here ♥️

Blessings to my accountability sister @katesuena for always showing up and leaning in with me and to @namastaywithtay @namastaysweatyclub for creating a life changing program 🙏🏻

Minus the one zucchini plant we are growing this year (that sadly not sure about, as it doesn’t get much sun) I decided to grow all flowers this year. And not just medicinal flowers, although still growing my forever love, calendula

Thinking about the times we live in right now, where it feels like almost necessity that we grow our own food, I decided on flowers because, flowers bring me joy. And I think we often miss that point that when the world feels hard, chaotic and stressful — that we can also find joy in the small things.

So this summer I’m basking in long nights, backyard hangs and patio dinners and fresh cut bouquets

And I feel grateful for that ♥️ by @notyourbasicboochie

Something that Taylar said in one of her workouts when I was just getting started is “this isnt easy for anyone” and that’s really stuck with me. People make it look easy, sure; but true work and effort are never easy. You are not special if it’s hard — you’re special if you show up and do it anyway, despite the hard, despite the excuses.

A line that’s living rent free in my head is “you get this one precious life. One! How you choose to live it is up to you.”

Sure, it doesn’t always feel that way — we have bills to pay, kids to take care of, and new problems to sort out on the regular. But how you choose to respond is up to you.

Your mindset is either your prison or your palace.

Gawd!

So try this the next time something doesn’t go your way: what’s 3 things you’re grateful for?

For example, yesterday it took my daughter over an hour and a half to fall asleep and I was starting to get quite frustrated. I remembered this hack and this is what I came up with:

	1.	I’m grateful I have a daughter
	2.	I’m grateful we are both healthy
	3.	I’m grateful I get to lie here with her every night, ’cause who knows how many more of these I have

And that right there shifted everything. Sure I was still frustrated because come on, go to sleep already — however my body relaxed. If that’s not growth, I don’t know what is. Sure it’s a silly example, but the ripple effect of this?!!

Who knew working out would work out so much more than my body 🙏🏻

Forever grateful for this workout program @namastaysweatyclub & @namastaywithtay

It’s transformed me in ways I never knew I could be by @notyourbasicboochie

LUCY 🩸

At 41, Lucy became a mother for the second time—
welcoming her son, Sebastian, in the homebirth she had long prayed for.

He came fast and wildly.
Four hours, start to finish.
No time for the birth pool—
he arrived earthside in the quiet wild of her bathroom.

In the blur of new-again motherhood,
Lucy tucked her placenta into the back of the freezer.
A sacred part of her birth story, kept safe for the moment she would know what to do.

Three years later,
as the pulse of perimenopause rose in her body,
the call returned.

She thawed her placenta—bringing it back to life.
And piece by piece, I made her a tincture.
A sacred elixir.
A reclamation.
A return to her own source.

This is her story.
Her rite of passage.
Her becoming.

Not just mother,
but Crone rising.
Keeper of wisdom.

@lucyjaynehall ✨ 🩸

This concoction combines her placenta with sacred herbs to support healing and restoration:

Rose - Calms mood swings, irritability, and anxiety. Opens the heart. Supports sleep and relaxation

Shatavari - Reduces hot flashes & night sweats. Restores juiciness. Grounding

Ashwagandha - Balances cortisol & estrogen/progesterone interplay. Libido booster. Reduces anxiety & irritability

Lemon Balm - Mood brightening. Eases restlessness. Uplifting, cooling, and calming

Thank you for entrusting me with such a sacred part of your journey Lucy 🙏🏻💖 taken in Vancouver, British Columbia by @notyourbasicboochie
