Ive been working on a custom expansion for #exceed for my own play 😁 He's mainly a close up fighter but has some very strong ranged attacks. What I like is his iron Reaver soul stealer which has 2 power and giant +1 per gauge when he lands a hit. And his exceed mode costs three and when he flips, he unlocks his ultra powerful meido Zangetsuha which is a four gauge super attack that ignores armor and then let's you cycle some cards and build up for the next turn. He might be a bit too strong or maybe he's just been getting lucky but he has been wrecking KY and Sol from Guilty Gear haha

I play exceed solo two handed, with each Deck having an active turn and a reactive turn. So on the active turn, I play a card with intention, keeping in mind gauge and distance when playing, and when the other character reacts, I just have them wild throw until they pull a legitimate attack up. I've found it's a satisfying way to play the game and also try the different characters.

I love the game and really hope I can find the Shovel Knight characters in the future! The Shovel Knight Hope pack is pretty expensive but I might just have to go for it sometime. 😁🫣 I wanna play as Shovel knight! Too bad it's like impossible to find Spectre Knight too. Out of stock in all the places 😭

Wooooo the #fanartcontest has ended for @backroomstcg and my piece Ritual Hallway has made it out as the final selection! It will be featured as the official August promo and will be available for sale to include in any decks where you're looking for an extra challenge. It's going to bring a nasty surprise to the forefront so watch out! More information to come but here's the original description I wrote for the card to set the stage:

Wandering through an ajar doorway, you find yourself in a bizarre out of place hallway decorated with strange blue and red pillars. In the distance, you see an open doorway with an eerie glow. Something about this place seems like a vision straight out of a horror novel, and you wonder what might be hiding in the shadows behind any one of those towering pillars. All you can do is creep slowly down the path, hoping nothing will jump out at you, but expecting any moment that something will... Then you hear a scuffling noise, and every nerve in your body tenses. You are definitely not alone.

Wow! This art contest has been a lot of fun. I'm super excited to know that my pieces did so well! And I would be happy with any of these making it honestly. I would be honored to have my own art on an actual @backroomstcg card. I would definitely put multiple decks together with the card, absolutely 😸 it was fantastic seeing so many fun Backrooms inspired pieces of art! Great job to everyone who took the time to send their pieces in, and thanks to anyone who took the time to check out the gallery and vote. What a fun competition! 😁 and what an amazing game!

If you didn't know, The Backrooms TCG is a very unique Trading Card Game where you play the role of a Wanderer, which is essentially someone who fell into this strange and mysterious world of monotonous yellowed hallways and unpleasantly moist carpeting. In this strange maze of endless corridors, you will encounter strange and bizarre entities, find useful and unique items, and hunt for the elusive and mystical Painite Gem. This gem is required to escape this crazy place, as the only true exit comes in the form of a set of golden stairs which is protected by a Painite field. Thus, you need a key, and the Painite Gem is the only item which can give you that access.

The game utilizes a unique 8 point compass system, which allows you to navigate the treacherous hallways. As you move to these various rooms on the Field of Play, you will also reveal the various entities and items which you can interact with. Items can be stored in your inventory, which has 4 slots open (pockets, essentially). The entities you encounter can be of the Friendly or Unfriendly persuasion. Friendly entities either give a 1 time effect, or are companions which can join your party. In this world, you can only have one friend though, so choose wisely!

Unfriendly entities, on the other hand, are much more dangerous, and will latch onto you and deal damage every round they stay in play. Weapons may be used to damage these unfriendlies, and once defeated, certain entities will allow you to search the corpse for that elusive Painite gem! Searching requires a coin flip, much like in something like Fear and Hunger. by @nowayartemus
