DAY 1 of AUS TIME ATTACK PRESENTED BY @trackschool This weekend sees people coming all across Australia to converge on the famous @winton_raceway for ATA. A small contingent of NSW’s fastest 86s and BRZs are down there to represent themselves and the club, all of them doing an amazing job. Leading the charge is our club partner @prospeedracing piloted by Shaun Atherton. Having finished day 1 ahead of close competition from QLDs 86 shop car; posting a 1:32.6 and a 1:33.0, the state of origin battle has never been hotter. Whilst the shop war battles, don’t let this overshadow @drew_gurney15 push to be the lead car, posting an impressive 1:32.8 as he shakes down this fresh built, filled with some of the nicest aero parts of the weekend, from Sydney composite and kayatchi carbon. Many long time members of the club will remember Andrew’s car as a street car first, a true ode to how far the car development has come. Following in the theme of aero is @massimocee and his home made aero representing @roman.motorsport, which has become arguably the most well known Gen 2 in Australia; HAKONE. Massimo battled with gremlins all day with the car, managing to wrangle a 1:33.3 on track. However, Massimo is poised for a strong showing tomorrow, with fresh tires and the power in the car, the Roman Motorsport team with be the ones to watch out there tomorrow to see how high they can climb. We can not forget the 2 members of the board who made the trek down, both of which represent the @redrebelracing team. @james_0906 has been pushing the boundaries of what is possible and is out there to prove a point, putting up a 1:36.1 and showing all the manual purists what is still possible with an auto. @ben_thegreek rounds out the field with a 1:42.5, however has been slowly reeling in a car in supercar class now just half a second ahead!!!Join the club in wishing them all the best of luck for day 2, we are all incredibly proud of how well you have represented the club. by @nsw86brzcc
