Drowning in footage.

Early morning documentation from Rhyolite, Nevada. Improvised guitar and field recordings from inside the Red Barn, hours before @danielmenche ’s final performance on Saturday.

Daniel’s instrument was improvised from spare materials found in and around the space. Wire stretched and tensioned, then played with a bottle.

Footage from In Relative Obscurity III.

More soon.

B-side video artwork with collaborative noise w/ @caustic.jpg

I love the new aesthetic c. has brought to this new project Tesu, born out of the IRO III recording sessions. First time making music in a focused way since highschool; 20 years ago when I first moved to Pahrump.

Check it out and consider supporting by grabbing the new Tesu EP, TR00 PAIN EP on @bandcamp it's pay what want ($0 or more!) and if you pay at least $20, I'll throw in 2 original abstract art prints for free ♥️

🚨 ‼️ Two releases in one week!‼️ 🚨
New project + album alert!

While tracking the latest iteration of live audio/visual artwork "In Relative Obscurity III" at @goldwellmuseum my collaborator c. and I felt a massive wave of inspiration from filming @danielmenche at his first ever artist in residence experience.

When we got back to Las Vegas, we continued to play music together.

This EP is one of our rehearsals caught while playing live in @caustic.jpg 's kitchen.

We both were stunned at how well it turned out, and how effortless it seemed to "just make another music release that sounds cohesive".

We would call the project TESU (a joke on us sounding like the @temu version of @justinkbroadrick 's project "Jesu".

Out today, "TR00 PAIN" is a 3-track EP with dense, lush, melodic noise built on guitars, tape loops, and our first vocal recordings together in over a decade. IROESU is the studio aftermath.

You can download the TESU EP for Pay-What-You-Want right now on @bandcamp

We also have limited 12x12 physical art prints available for $25 hearts

Link in bio to listen and preorder ❤️ 🙌

Then, join us this Saturday, Aug 29th (2-6 PM) at @recycledpropaganda gallery in the #DTLV Arts District for the official IRO III premiere and live recording session.

Let's make it a massive week!
Thanks to the people who preordered IRO III, it's much appreciated! The project grant for individual artists from @nvartscouncil has gone due to budget cuts, but the little bits of support and getting people to listen/talk to you about the project is worth it 🙏

All in all, it's been a blast playing music again w c. and I hope you enjoy this new release. I'm not sure how to describe it besides "FFO: @sunblindstudios (Tim Hecker), @haveanicelifeband , @inmemoryofthom (planning for burial), Jesu, and @yellow_swans_sound @swans_official "

Next Saturday, come check out the closing reception / listening party event at @recycledpropaganda for the newest iteration of my video+sound artwork In Relative Obscurity : STAY HERE. This is the 3rd time I’ve recorded an album out in Rhyolite, Nevada, this time with my good friend, @caustic.jpg and I’d love for you to hear what we played out there earlier this year late March. A newer friend, @danielmenche , had asked to set up a residency experience for him, which made this latest iteration of the project possible. He will be releasing his own project from the time spent out there. Thanks to @goldwellmuseum for helping this version of the project come to fruition and being open minded for this kind of project!

See you next Saturday. Preview the album and preorder for a digital copy of the photobook with Behind the Scenes film photography taken by @hollographic / Holly Lay, who was kind enough to document our time out there. Around 50 pages of shots from the ghost town of Rhyolite and the Red Barn Arts Center we performed in.
