As we count down to the Atlantic Premiere of The Bookstore That Never Sleeps at the Atlantic International Film Festival, we want to spotlight the incredible creative team behind the film and one of the main driving forces of its atmosphere: Richard McNeil aka NULO @nulo4u

Richard didn’t just handle location and post-production sound for us, he created the blueprint for the entire sound and music of the film. A tremendous East Coast talent, musician, and producer, Richard crafted an immersive sonic landscape that elevated the film.

Having artists like Richard work on telling local stories isn’t just a bonus, it’s the heart of what makes creating here in Nova Scotia so special.

Our LP “Lane Hall” drops tomorrow!

Two years ago @nulo4u and @jrdnmusic started writing with no intention to make a band or an album. All we wanted was to make songs that meant something to us. As the song list grew it became a clear that this project needed to be a live band and the soul music collective Lane Hall was born.

We played our new LP at @full_circle_festival last weekend and it felt so good to have the songs live in the world and not just on a record! We can’t wait to play more shows and see where these songs go 🖤.

Lane Hall is:

Relive the joyful vibes of Lane Hall’s debut performance✨

The first-ever live set from @lanehallsoul , a soul collective based in Halifax, featuring @jrdnmusic on lead vocal and producer/instrumentalist @nulo4u as musical director, was recorded at CBC Halifax’s Studio 60, with a powerful opening set from @kailglas .

The “On Air” session first aired in October 2025.

JRDN, Nulo and Kailin’s collaboration “Come on Over,” an anthem dedicated to the power of community and human connection, was commissioned by the CBC especially for the show.

Kailin recalls “Writing this song was more than just a commission; it was a journey of self-discovery and growth. It helped me overcome my shyness and isolation, and it connected me with a community of like-minded individuals who share my passion for art.”

Tune into ECMH this weekend to hear their incredible performance again.
