What’s my signature and my specialty? It’s the shag baby, and there’s a shag for every hair type and every face shape.

Here are some of my favorite shags over the past couple of years and you’ll notice something about them. They all have different hair types, curl patterns, density, it doesn’t matter, I can cut it.

Allow me to introduce myself since it’s been a minute and I have some new faces around here!

Hi 👋 I’m Laura Schneider, a salon owner and stylist with 14 years of experience in the beauty industry and I’ve been ruffling feathers here for a hot minute.

I’ve been doing hair since the days when anyone could walk in and you had to slay. Specializing is cool and all, but I was the kind of young stylist, where if I didn’t knock a haircut out of the park one time, I was going to practice till I NAILED it.

That work ethic in the beginning of my career created a seasoned stylist that wants EVERONE to leave my chair feeling like the coolest most authentic version of themselves. I want you to have the hair you’ve always dreamed of and I’ve got the chops to give it to you.

I’m brash, honest, and brave. You can often hear me telling a nervous client, “look, they don’t keep me around for my good looks or sparkling personality, it’s ‘cuz I’m really good at this.” That usually cracks whatever nerves and let’s my guest rest easy knowing that I’ve got things under control.

I love doing shags, shakes, anything that lets your natural texture shine through. I love bold colors, dimension, anything trending, anything new, chances are, I just took a class on it and I’m dying to flex 💪🏼

I work behind the chair Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and I’m currently taking tight curly models on Wednesdays so click the link in my bio to get better acquainted! I’ve got everything in there from online booking, to hair quizzes, and even the Fringe playlist for you to enjoy in the comfort of your home!

And that’s a wrap on festival season, ending with my all time favorite, If you know me, you know it’s @griz and the second year of his festival @sevenstarsfest.

Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, there’s something magical here. It’s COLD at night so while I did see some absolute baddies in bikinis, the vibes are cozy. Everyone is in their winter wookery finest and it feels a little more intimate than any other festival I attended this year. You run into artists here. They are dancing around you and eating next to you at Wubski’s, GRiZ is running around your camp with a whole marching band, the people are immaculate.

And alongside me, my rave bae. This man who could have said after a decade of marriage that festival life was a bridge too far for him, but instead jumped into the whimsy with me ten toes in. Brian, you are my favorite person to be with, whether we’re snuggling with the dogs and watching murder shows, or dancing under the stars and glitter lasers. I’m sorry I went to Forest without you. Lesson learned 😂

Less rain next year, deal?

I’m a big fan of surrounding myself and filling my space with folks who are exceedingly talented so when @yourhairfairymd asked to collaborate with @fringebaltimore it was a no brainer for me.

She is the best hair sparkler I have ever met, hands down. She can do a full head of sparkles in absolutely no time. She knows how to place them for longevity and visibility. We get to work with her once a week, and when she’s not at fringe, you can find her braiding and sparkling at the Maryland Renaissance Festival where you have to be the best of the best.

I’m so grateful that when she’s not bringing merriment and glitter to festival goers, we get to hang out with her. She’s at Fringe on Tuesdays and on special request so if you want hair like this, you know when to book 😈

Human beings are at their best when they are surrounded in love, acceptance, and in my humble opinion, heavy heavy bass music.

I always come home from this weekend refreshed, healed, at home in my skin, and ready to face the world again with Peace, love, unity, and respect. This place is magic. Even in a code red weather event, we thrive.

In Legend Valley, I am never too much. I am never too loud. I am enough. I am loved and celebrated. I come home and remember that there is a place for me filled with 80,000 people with the same kind of neurodivergence and the same love of music that makes your blood vibrate. It makes the worst of times survivable. It warms me when the weather gets cold. This place is the happiest place on earth.

Ten years today. A decade of Fringe. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible for us to make a living creating art. Side note- I love rat tails. If you want them, lemme do them. If you want some and you don’t have enough hair, I got you. If you have them and they’re skimpy, let me show you how to add more with cheap braiding hair that will cost you no more than $10 and probably last you for months.

Weirdfest 2026. Always exceeding my expectations. Every year this family gets closer, more purposeful, and more connected to ourselves and each other. I love these humans. I love the rain more for watching them dance in it. I love myself more when I leave them because of how well they love me. I love taking my team to this incredible place and introducing them to these precious people.

Thank you @cultandking team for everything you do especially Robin, Jared, Jim, and Grace, who have become family to me these three years.

Extra special gratitude to my team. I have never felt so seen and so cared for by the people I feel like I’m supposed to be caring for. Thank you for opening your hearts and minds, for loving this craft, for making me giggle, and cry happy tears. WE MADE IT!!!
