Hi there, I thought it was time I share my face and a little about myself. My name is Bri and I am Nutria Doula Care. Some of you may also know me as Kamiko. I am a biracial, queer womxn serving birthers and babies in the South Bay Area. My ancestors are from the lands of Mexico and Japan. One of my favorite things to do is swim in nature. That’s the otter in me🦦 One fun fact about me is that I sing and write music.

So you might be asking, what’s with the otters or what does nutria mean?
Well for starters, nutria means otter in Spanish and I am connected to the Spirit of Otter. A little over two years ago I was gifted the name, Otter Womxn, through my beautiful teacher, Yellow Wolf( @yoursacredjourneyywn ). Since then I have been learning from the Otter Spirit within me. I move and flow with her to create the love needed to support my clients.

Nutria Doula Care is my connection to the Otter spirit that lives within me. It is my deep connection to the medicine that Otter represents, the medicine of Womxn.

Otter is the personification of femininity and represents balanced female energy. She teaches us to express joy for others and to share the good fortune of others. She teaches us sisterhood, to love without jealousy, to maintain total trust, and to honor the right of each person to BE. Otter reminds us to look at the joyousness of the receptive side of our nature. She encourages us to play at life and flow with the waters of the Universe. (Medicine Cards, Sams & Carson)

Welcome to Nurtria Doula Care!

I am a so happy to announce my current journey into the world of birth work. My entire life I knew I wanted to do something where I could be of service to others, where I could support and help those around me. I have also always wanted to be a mother. The nurturing nature has forever been instilled in me.

For a long time, I was unsure of what my future was going to look like, I was unsure of who I was. That’s when I decided to dedicate my time to my own healing so that I could find my truest purpose. So I could heal myself and help others on their own healing journeys. As I began to heal, my path became more and more clear. I knew I needed to support new little souls in their transition to this world and those who bring them in it.

Therefore, I am humbled to present to you, Nutria Doula Care, where I offer emotional, physical and spiritual support through your journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.💕
