Strengthening community at Oxomohco ✨️🔥
We celebrated the completion of book # 1 at the BIPOC Book Club, which was Thriving Postpatum by @indigemama by offering some body work on one another.
Each of us resinanted with different parts of the book, but I think the biggest takeaway was hearing someone else put into words what many of us have been feeling, seeing, and doing. AND amplifying that voice. Being in a community where we can all connect on this aspect has strengthened our connection and, by default, positively impacted the work that we are doing!

Thank you to everyone who attended and held space for this beautiful celebration. May we continue to uplift our community and traditions. Huge thank you to our hermana @indigemama for sharing this book with us all!

I don’t even know how to put the last week into words that isn’t a whole novel but I’m going to try. The last week was spent in community, in training, in care, in love with the birthing community that @matrizmidwife has grown. It’s so hard for me to be seen and to receive (lol but we all knew that already) and this current transition season has been reminding me that I need to be held and cared for too. The week with Tema and her magical love was amazing but also so healing with some painful moments in my life that I needed to release.

I went into the training/retreat expecting to learn how to hold @mightycommunityadvocacy’s community members thru the closing of significant cycles but had no idea that I’d be held and cared for. I am so grateful for the amazing people that I got to meet and experience their love and energy. @madrejaguar said our faces transformed thru out the week and it showed our growth and I appreciated that my face showed the journey I had been on in those 5 days.

I’m so in awe of this community and the amount of love, care, protection, and support everyone showed me. I’m so grateful for the affirmations of my life work that came to me thru all the different downloads.

Tema- I love you and I hope you always feel the warmth of your love and care come back to you. Thank you for your prayers and your wisdom and for sharing your knowledge and your friends. 🫶🏾

Teaching midwifery skills is one of my favorite parts of being a partera. This information belongs to us. One thing I love about the homebirth midwifery model of care is as we practice on each other, we get the chance to know what it’s like to be a birthing client during an emergency.
