A look at one of our Season 8 video projects. ⚡️

Every year, our dancers come together to create choreography pieces that showcase the street dance styles we’ve been training all season.

At Higher Ground, Popping, Hip Hop, and Breaking are the foundation of our training every season, while also exploring a variety of other street dance styles throughout the year.

This piece was choreographed by one of our incredible Popping teachers Wesley @wazli_ . Some of our dancers came into this season with years of Popping experience, while for others it was their first time learning the style. No matter where they started, everyone committed to the process, pushed themselves, and grew.

A huge shoutout to our other Popping GOAT, @brycekoebel , for sharing his knowledge, passion, and helping shape our dancers throughout the season. We’re so grateful to learn from teachers who continue to inspire us.

Thank you, Jax, for capturing another season of Higher Ground and bringing these moments to life.

If you’re looking to deepen your training in Hip Hop, Breaking, Popping, freestyle, artistry, and street dance culture, we’d love to meet you.

space boy makes finals?¿🛸✨

This is one of my rounds from @rukusstreetdance battle. Shoutout to the legend @jherichizon for organizing this battle/competition. The community and vibes at this event were incredible to be a part of!
To the judges @carolineladyc @aj_megaman @jeri_hao2 it was an honour to showcase my movement in front of you all, thank you for all the feedback and being such big inspirations for my dance.

@oscarmagor on the track🗣️🫡
@therealpoppinsean never thought I’d get the chance to be in a finals round with you, I learned so much from watching you up close, you are such a big inspiration for me in my popping and I was honoured to be up there with ya! Thank you for the exchange:)

This was more of a mental battle for me, every round I won I didn’t feel worthy of. But I think this round showcases who I am as an artist, it’s not quite readable all the way through, it’s not perfect, but it’s me. I haven’t felt like me in my dance for a while and this battle reminded me of who I am. I was letting go and I was okay with being weird and different. I was exploring and taking risks, I was going places where I never usually go and I think that’s why it was me. I’ve never been afraid to take the jump, to stand out, to embarrass myself.
If I am WILLING to feel every emotion then nothing can catch me off guard. In this battle I was willing to feel it all and I did. Everything thrown at me was taken in with ease, and for that I am proud of myself regardless of what I think is worthy. Peace and love yall🩵

Our very own Spaceboi aka @nyahwalker_ made it to Top 16 at Obsidian Jam this past long weekend 🔥

Nyah has been putting in the WORK these past few years at Higher Ground, and it’s powerful to see everything starting to align. The growth. The confidence. The execution. This is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

Attending Obsidian Jam was mandatory for our company — not only to put our training into actuality, but because it’s Black History Month and it’s important for us to show up and support Black-led events in our city. Hip Hop comes from Black culture, and we move with that awareness and respect.

Thank you for an incredible event, Obsidian Jam 🙏🏾

We’re proud of our dancers. We’re proud of the work. And we’re just getting started. by @nyahwalker_
