This World Food Day, we’re reminded that food is more than a meal.

To our Board Member, @chefpierrethiam (Executive Chef and Co-Founder of restaurant Teranga), food is “dignity, health, culture, and connection. Everyone deserves the opportunity not just to eat, but to eat well.”

Your monthly gift makes this possible. A monthly donation goes toward ensuring families can receive healthy pantry staples they can turn into creative and nutritious plates.

Rising costs continue to make it challenging for individuals and families in under-resourced communities to meet their basic needs. At New York Common Pantry, we’re committed to connecting our neighbors with nutritious food and essential resources, including healthcare benefits, SNAP, and other social services.

For Rachel, running the NYC Marathon has always been a dream. This year, she’s turning that dream into an opportunity to make a difference. After moving to New York City, Rachel began volunteering with New York Common Pantry and saw firsthand the impact of its work and the sense of community it creates.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Rachel run for New York Common Pantry! Help Rachel reach her fundraising goal and support the fight against hunger:

Food access should not depend on whether someone feels safe enough to stand in line.

As @theindypendent highlights, mobile food pantries are helping reach New Yorkers facing barriers to food access. At NY Common Pantry, we’re proud to bring nutritious food directly into communities and meet New Yorkers where they are with dignity and care.
