Collective buying power = real savings. In 2025, members of The Roundtable spent $997K on nutritious food & ingredients. By working together, we saved $634K, or nearly 40%. That's more food, more often, for more New Yorkers.

We’re proud to be a member of The Roundtable, a coalition of the leading emergency feeding and service providers in NYC. Read The Roundtable’s 2025 annual report at the link in bio.

🧺❤️ CLEAN CLOTHES SHOULD NEVER BE A LUXURY.

For some New Yorkers, something as simple as washing their clothes can be a financial struggle. For students and families already facing challenges, access to clean clothing, a hot shower, or a meal can make a difference in their confidence, health, and everyday lives.

At South Speed Schools, we believe supporting our communities goes far beyond the classroom and the boxing gym. It’s about making sure people know where to turn when they need help. 💚

❤️ TO OUR STUDENTS: Never be embarrassed to ask for help. Your circumstances do not define your potential.

❤️ TO OUR EDUCATORS: Sometimes the student struggling to focus in class is facing challenges we cannot see. A little understanding and the right resources can change a life.

❤️ TO OUR COMMUNITY: Share this post. You never know who might need it.

Because building stronger students starts with building stronger communities. 🥊💚

An evening of great food with a purpose: supporting the next generation of hospitality talent. 🍽️

@restaurant_associates CEO Ed Brown will serve as featured chef for the 2026 @shfmfoundation Gala, bringing his culinary expertise and commitment to the industry to New York City.

📅 Monday, November 9, 2026
📍 The New York Academy of Medicine, NYC

The evening will raise funds for the SHFM Foundation’s work attracting, educating, and supporting future foodservice and hospitality professionals. It will also benefit New York Common Pantry and its efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity.

Read our conversation with Brown about the gala, the evolution of workplace dining, and investing in the people who move our industry forward.

What happens when you grow up seeing service in action? 💙
Growing up, Charlie volunteered alongside her mom, Janet Lorin, a @Bloomberg News reporter, learning early on what it means to show up and put your time to work for others.
Years later, Charlie has made that commitment her own, building a lasting relationship with @nycommonpantry and continuing to find ways to support New Yorkers facing food insecurity.
One generation inspiring the next, and turning a shared commitment to service into lasting impact. #TeamBloomberg #GrowingUpWithBOB

Thank you to our Buffs who came out last weekend to volunteer at @nycommonpantry! Our team did it all- from set up, meal prep, order taking, and grocery packing, NY Buffs jumped in wherever they were needed.

In addition to our volunteer hours last weekend, NY Buffs also made a financial donation to NY Common Pantry to support their mission of reducing hunger throughout New York City while promoting dignity and self-sufficiency.

It’s been a minute since we’ve turned Dear Mama’s dining room into a stage; so it’s obvious that we would ask friend and performer @duboisakeen to lead us into an evening of community celebration and connection.

TONIGHT!

Music begins at 5:15pm with a second set at 6:00pm, with brief interludes where we will turn the stage over to local non-profits NY Common Pantry and Uptown Grand Central to share their work.

Percentage of food & beverage sales during the performance benefits both these worthy charities. One drink minimum per seat, no cover.

Du’Bois A’Keen is a composer, recording artist, singer-songwriter, music director, and vocal arranger whose expansive catalogue spans gospel, R&B, soul, jazz, and concert music and we are thrilled to have him serenading us this evening.

In addition to his artist-scholar practice, A’Keen serves on faculty at Columbia University’s Climate School and School of Professional Studies in Sustainability Management.

Since he last graced the cafe stage, Du’Bois has
served as Creative Associate and Music Director for Matthew Rushing’s Sacred Songs for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, presented at New York City Center and the Whitney Museum’s Edges of Ailey. In 2026, he made his Lincoln Center debut at Alice Tully Hall as Founder and Director of the Harlem Gospel Ensemble and featured solo vocalist in Carrie Mae Weems’ Contested Sites of Memory, alongside Nona Hendryx, Carl Hancock Rux, Helga Davis, and Craig Harris.

Previously, A’Keen served as Associate Director of Music and Programming for the Mama Foundation for the Arts and Sing Harlem, headlining Red Rooster Harlem’s Gospel Brunch and performing at Glamour’s Women of the Year tribute to Mary J. Blige and the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Albie Awards.

His recent recordings include Sacred Songs Suite and the double-sided EP A’ LOVE NOTE, celebrated with his Apollo Theater Music Café debut alongside Sacred Groove, his 11-piece band.
Most recently, A’Keen premiered a new work commissioned by Duke Arts.
