Free entry

ChopChop play a kind of high energy artrock with frontman Xelís de Toro mixing angular frantic movements with yelped vocals, and the band pulling in wildly eclectic influences to form their own unique sound. They have drawn comparisons to Talking Heads and The Fall, but there are also nods to absurdist theatre thrown into the mix.

Beau Flies are a trio from Hastings featuring Otti Albietz, Haydn Ackerley and Colden Drystone - together they make music that veers from pummeling to twisty-turny to highly melodic, often within the space of a song. They’ve played all over southeast UK, the arctic circle (Varangen festival in Vadsø, Norway) and that London.

As summer turns to fall, sunshine turns to rain, pants evening rolls around again. We simply couldn’t wait any longer to customise some briefs !

If there’s been a pants-shaped hole in your heart, worry no longer. This Tuesday, at 7pm, you can satisfy your craving to embellish with glitter, bows, lace, buttons, patches, the sky is the limit.

See you there 💋

Something wicked this way comes, or in other words, here’s Cast Off Club’s official October lineup !

Expect plenty of slashing, slicing, sewing, splicing, incantations, maybe some plotting and ritual sacrifices. Enjoy with a side of beer, and if you’re lucky maybe some treats (or tricks).

Don’t be afraid to stop in for a spell… we don’t bite taken in The Oak - For all the old locals by @oakbrighton

TWISTED VIEWS #5

NEXT SUNDAY we got DEAD FINKS from BERLIN coming into town and playing their haunting and catchy Post-Punk at The Oak. Joining them is formerly-Brighton-but-now-London slacker rock legends BLOODY DEATH, who are down for the first time in a minute! Opening the show are locals TERSE AFFECTION who’ve released music on Gob Nation. Come on out on the 11th! Doors at 7pm but the gig will run quick and be over by 9pm so everyone’s in bed at a good time. Flyer by Hillsy taken in The Oak by @oakbrighton
