Radium was once widely used in sealed medical devices, called radium needles, for cancer treatment.

Today, these old medical devices could help fight cancer again.

ORNL technicians are recovering radium-226 and putting it back to work in modern isotope production so it can be repurposed for modern cancer treatments. Learn more through the link in bio.
