Almost 19 years ago Jay was born. He has taught me so much about myself. I am fortunate enough to have been part of his life since he was hours old. Such a humbling experience! I can not take full credit for how he turned out as I had lots of help along the way, which I am grateful for. However, I know in my heart one thing is for certain. Him and I developed an honest relationship from the start. We both have our faults, our strengths, and everything in between, but above all, we trust each other. In retrospect what created the quality of our relationship is and always has been my commitment to him. The results of our 19 years of blood, sweat, and tears has helped forge me into someone capable of being a father. Jackie is two and a half now and she has the privilege and great gift of being around this amazing horse every day of her life. Just like I had lots of help with Jay, I am grateful we have lots of help with her. @allyoaks and I couldn’t be more grateful in every way. Jackie is my next greatest teacher. by @oaks_robert

@moultonsally has been the best riding partner, neighbor, and friend for many years now. I am very grateful for her in my life. I’ve see her bring many horses along, however none of them as cool as Danny. He’s lucky to be in Sally’s hands and she’s lucky too. Just coming 4, he’s doing great. It’s been a pleasure watching their relationship develop. He’s also always been super sweet with Jackie and it’s funny how they have a neat little bond being in similar stage of development. Last weekend we got Seamus out and tried to scrub some more hair off him then hitched him up. He is such a great horse. I really struggle to make time for things that I like to do beyond what is required. I always feel joy when I am driving. Even more if the girls want to go for a ride. by @oaks_robert

Most snow Jackie has ever experienced! It made our adventuring extra fun and a good workout too. Trekked down to the Beebe river yesterday and did some sledding on the power lines. by @oaks_robert

Great idea @jared_walker15! Choosing to do hard things only makes hard things easier.
The benefits of cold expos have been life changing for me. At times when I was overwhelmingly depressed, the cold was my best friend. I didn’t know it at the time but it can increase dopamine up to 250%. No wonder! There are many benefits but don’t take it from me.
