We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our August Horse Trials such a success! Thanks to Tim Murray, Heather Gillette, Janet Briggs, Dr. Jim Gornall, Janine McClain, Jeanie Clarke, Jamie Gornall, Dr. Kirsten Glass, Robert Oaks Horseshoeing, Bill Hawe and @iequitek for presenting the Precision Rider Award, Lois and team from The North Tunbridge General Store, the Huntington Horse Trials Organizing Committee, the Huntington Team for the tireless work it took to get the farm in such great shape after all the flooding, and of course all the volunteers!

We lucked out with two glorious days of sunshine and really couldn’t have asked for better weather for the weekend. We are so appreciative of all the competitors for being so understanding of shifts in the schedule and the continuing challenges brought on by the rain! Our Secretary had fun channelling her inner @nicolebrownmedia and @frankietstutes catching up with a few people as they came off cross country and it was incredibly gratifying to hear such kind words from so many of you and knowing that all the hard work paid off!

We still have a few things coming up this Fall starting with our Schooling Dressage show on August 19th and Schooling Trials August 26th (both open now!) so please check our website and social media for upcoming events and we hope to welcome many of you back to Huntington in the near future!

BADONKADASH 2023 was a success! A thousand thank you’s to our 13 donkey participants, our human racers, our volunteers, and our participating landowners. Well done to all!

Horses and donkeys need their feet trimmed every 6-8 weeks. Consistent hoof care is an important part of maintaining the health and soundness of our animals.
.
We’re lucky to have an amazing team of farriers who thoughtfully answer my questions, patiently work with our assortment of creatures, and carefully ensure the best care for everyone. They even consulted with us on optimal footing in and around the barn when we built it.
.
Having a farm takes a village, and I feel so lucky to work with such kind and knowledgeable experts who teach me more about my animals and their craft with every visit. Trusting, honest, communicative relationships with our farriers (and vet!) is THE most critical parts of making this place work.

What barn raising dreams are made of ✨
A thousand thank you’s to the friends and family who made this one a reality. So many years of dreaming and planning, and so many months of hard graft went into this project.

✨✨✨ My mom grabbed an iPhone photo of my gram {she’s a sharp & spry 101} standing proudly with the 5 quilt tops she’s made for each of her great-grandchildren the past few weeks from her fabric stash ✂️she’s not letting this pandemic bring her down & doesn’t even complain! but, she does miss going to church- she’s been busy keeping tabs on all of us, sewing, reading, cooking, baking, starting her garden, watching msnbc, and keeping her journal - basically all the things that I love to do.... sharing this here in case you needed to be lifted up and inspired.... and really thankful she taught me how to meal plan, freeze and can produce, and instilled in me my love for family dinner....hoping this summer we can still go strawberry 🍓 picking like we always do -but safely 6 feet apart 💙💙💙 #101 #quiltersofinstagram #quilting #greatgrammabrownbrown #grandmother #motivation #quarentinelife #quarentine #upworthy #dosomethinggood #sewingproject #4h #somegoodnews #love #lovesewing #makersgonnamake #stayhomeandsew #janome #janonesewingmachine
