OBOL is an animal welfare and disaster relief organization providing pet food, supplies & comfort items to shelters, rescues & struggling pet owners.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

OBOL’s vans have been everywhere the mission needs to go.

Shelter supply drops. Rescue pickups. Community donation runs. Support for sanctuaries, farms, K-9 units, veterans, families, and animals in crisis.

They have also helped OBOL respond during emergencies across Southern California, where recent years have brought winter storms, flooding, Tropical Storm Hilary, and devastating wildfires like the Palisades and Eaton fires.

When disasters happen, animals and the people caring for them need help quickly. Food, crates, blankets, beds, towels, leashes, carriers, and comfort supplies have to move fast. That movement depends on reliable vans.

Now, both OBOL vans need urgent repairs, and we are asking our community to help cover the cost so we can keep showing up across Southern California.

Because when animals need help, OBOL needs to be ready to roll. #donatetoday by @obolpaws

OBOL’s vans are more than vehicles. They are how the mission moves.

Every week, Brad and the OBOL team use these vans to pick up donated supplies and deliver food, blankets, beds, crates, medical supplies, and comfort items to shelters, rescues, veterans, families, and animals in need.

Recently, both OBOL vans needed urgent repairs, with costs reaching up to $32,000.

Without reliable vans, OBOL cannot keep supplies moving to the 50+ rescue groups and approximately 3,000 animals we support each month.

We need our community’s help to cover these critical repair costs and keep OBOL on the road.

Please donate today to help Keep Us Moving: https://donorbox.org/keep-us-moving

Every mile matters. Every delivery matters. Every animal helped depends on this mission staying in motion. #donatetoday by @obolpaws

❤️🐾 A WEEK OF COMPASSION AND GRATITUDE 🐾❤️
This week was filled with little lives, hard work, and so much gratitude.
Cats have found a special place in my heart. Sadly, community cats are often invisible to society, and here in Victorville, resources to help them are very limited.
With my neighbor's help, we were able to trap five community cats and take them for TNR on Tuesday. After their procedures, they recovered at my home before returning to their familiar surroundings. 💔
It's never easy to let them go, but they returned spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and ticks. Sometimes, TNR is the most compassionate way we can help them.
This week also brought a happy visit with Brad from OperationBlanketsofLove.org an organization that supports so many rescues and animals in need, including in Mexico. Brad is always so kind and generous with me, and I'm truly grateful for his continued support. This time, I was able to bring home a large amount of prescription food for both dogs and cats, which will go to animals in Mexico 🇲🇽 who depend on special diets. ❤️
Rescue work can be overwhelming. There is always another animal who needs help, and sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down and breathe. But moments like these remind me why I keep going.
Community cats deserve to be seen. Every animal deserves a chance. And every act of kindness matters. 🐾
Thank you to everyone who helps make this work possible. Together, we can make a difference, one animal at a time. ❤️

Eighteen years ago, Eileen Smulson walked into an animal shelter on a cold, rainy day and saw puppies shivering without blankets. That moment inspired a mission that would become Operation Blankets of Love, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of animals in need.

Today, OBOL supports more than 50 animal rescue organizations each month, helping provide food and essential supplies to approximately 4,000 homeless dogs and cats.

But their impact doesn’t stop there. Through the Humane Education Learning Program, OBOL has taught more than 14,000 children about empathy, kindness, and responsible pet care since 2008, with rescued dogs serving as “animal ambassadors” who help bring those lessons to life. 🐾

What started with a few puppies in need of warmth has grown into a mission touching thousands of animals, families, and children.
