Meet Dr. Shane Wood!

Shane is the Professor of New Testament & Its Origins, and teaches the Gospel of Matthew, Exegesis of Revelation, Biblical Justice, History of the Roman Empire, and whatever else he’s asked to teach. This is his 18th year teaching at OCC.

He and his wife Sara have been married for 24 years in January. She is a spiritual director and trained chaplin who pastors ministers all across the country. His oldest son Zion (22 years old) is a graduate of OCC, and he currently serves as a resident for Christ’s Church of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ. His daughter Paige (20 years old) is a Junior at OCC studying Psychology and Counseling. His son Maddox (19 years old) is a freshman at OCC studying general ministry and music. And his youngest son Robert (13 years old) is an eighth grader at Webb City Junior High, and he plays soccer and basketball.

FUN FACT!
Shane is an avid Boston Celtics fan (as in he watches all 82 games every season). He also loves to travel around the world.
He’s a writer (his substack is “Letters from the Desert” and my latest book Thinning the Veil: Encountering Jesus Christ in the Book of Revelation was a finalist for “Book of Year” with Christianity Today).
He plays the guitar and sings, and just out of college, he traveled with a band and recorded two albums.
One final fun fact: He just started crafting Bonsai trees as a hobby! by @occ_admissions
