๐Ÿ”ฅ WOWโ€ฆ WHAT A DAY! ๐Ÿ”ฅ What better way to bring the OC mountain bike community together than throwing a family mountain bike party in the middle of a 100+ยฐ heat wave?! ๐Ÿ˜‚โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ Thankfully, Oโ€™Neill Regional Park came through with plenty of shade and a nice breeze, keeping the riders cool enough to have a blast with their friends and families. We kicked things off with introductions to Ride-Rx and OCMTBA, then jumped into an MTB 101 skills session instructed by Coach @donnya and Coach @t.louns for riders AND parents. ๐Ÿค˜ We worked on: ๐Ÿšต Ready/neutral position ๐Ÿšต Bike/body separation ๐Ÿšต Braking ๐Ÿšต Shifting ๐Ÿšต Balance & bike control Then it was time for a few rounds of Circle of Doom! ๐Ÿ˜‚ A huge thank-you to the awesome ladies from @ocvaulting for stopping by to talk about horses, horse safety, and sharing the trails. ๐Ÿด We then opened up the skills course for everyone to practice their new skills โ€” and watching the kids gain confidence and have fun was awesome! ๐Ÿ™Œ And thenโ€ฆ RAFFLE TIME! ๐ŸŽ‰ We had some seriously cool prizes: ๐Ÿ‘• Jerseys & riding pants from Cased ๐Ÿช– Helmets from 100% ๐Ÿงด Chain lube & bike cleaner from @formula100brand ๐Ÿ‘• Event t-shirts from @ride-rx Most of the kids walked away with multiple prizes! ๐Ÿค˜ And a HUGE shout-out to Manny, who fired up the BBQ and cooked some amazing burgers and dogs for everyone after a hard morning of riding. ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ”ฅ โค๏ธ This event would not have been possible without the amazing people who donated, volunteered, participated, and helped spread the word. This is what growing the OC mountain bike community is all about: Kids on bikes. Families together. New skills. New friends. More stoke. ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธโค๏ธ THANK YOU, EVERYONE! ๐Ÿ™ And trust meโ€ฆ the thank-you list is coming because there are WAY too many people to fit in one post, you know who are! #RideRx #OCMTBA #TakeAKidMountainBikingDay #OCMTB #mtb by @ocmtba
