🥉 THIRD IN THE WORLD. 🥉 Hyrox World Championships, Stockholm — Women’s Upper Limb Adaptive division. Bronze medal. Done.
I didn’t really run until I was 50. Started Hyrox in 2022. Today I stood on a world podium, one of the leaders in this division for 2026
Age is only a number. 🙌
I never gave up. I just kept trying harder. 💪

🌎🏆 WE’RE GOING TO THE DEKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! 🇺🇸

Thrilled that @in.fo9861 and I have qualified in Co-Ed Doubles for the DEKA World Championships in Fort Worth, Texas! 🇺🇸💪

With only five DEKA events held in Ireland this year, earning a place on the world stage is a huge honour. We’re proud to represent Ireland and compete against the best in the world! 🌍

A massive thank you to @b4life for hosting events and helping grow DEKA in Ireland. Without people creating these opportunities, we wouldn’t have the chance to compete on the world stage! 🙌

And Fort Worth, Texas looks absolutely amazing! 🤠🇺🇸 I’ll admit, most of my knowledge of Texas comes from watching Landman on Paramount+ 😂, but I’m already loving the look of the place and can’t wait to experience some real Texas hospitality. Cowboy boots might even be on the shopping list! 🤠

“BUT YOU DON’T LOOK LIKE AN ADAPTIVE ATHLETE.”

I hear this a lot.

Not every disability is visible. And not every challenge can be seen.

I’m proud to compete in HYROX Adaptive Upper Limb Minor and to be a World Championship bronze medallist.

💡 Did you know there are 13 HYROX Adaptive divisions?

Adaptive athletes can also compete in standard HYROX races, often facing additional challenges.

But here’s something I believe needs addressing.

⚠️ When it comes to Adaptive World Championship qualification, there’s no separation by age.

That means a 60-year-old could be competing against a 16-year-old for the same qualification places.

Is that really a level playing field?

Age categories exist in standard HYROX racing. I believe adaptive athletes deserve the same consideration.

We may look alike on the start line, but our challenges can be very different.

Different abilities. Different ages. Different challenges. SAME determination. ❤️

Let’s celebrate adaptive athletes, challenge perceptions and keep pushing for greater inclusion AND fairness.

HYROX ROME 🇮🇹 | ADAPTIVE WOMEN’S DIVISION RACE REVIEW

I went into Rome carrying a lot of fatigue, and it showed. It wasn’t my fastest race, it wasn’t my prettiest race, but I got it done. 💪

7 hybrid races in 8 weeks. Slightly unhinged? Possibly. 😂

The haul: 4 HYROX 1st-place podiums and 1 second place. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥈

Would I recommend racing that often? Absolutely not.
If you want to actually improve, you need proper training blocks between races. As the weeks went on, fatigue built up and the times started going the wrong way.

But did I have fun? I had a ball.

Seven cities, five countries, lots of new experiences and a reminder that not every race has to be about a PB.

Kudos to my coach @denahogan1 for helping me navigate this crazy ambition!

Sometimes the win is the adventure, the people, the memories… and knowing when it might be sensible to stay home for a weekend. 😂❤️

Meet Geraldine Killeen.

Some people just love to race.

Today Geraldine flew in from Ireland for DEKA FIT East Midlands today, somewhere in the middle of a whirlwind week that’s taken her from Greece to Ireland to Derby, and through three competitions in seven days.

With two and a half hours’ sleep behind her, our adaptive athlete stepped onto the floor and gave it everything.

And somehow, amongst all of that, found another gear and a new PB.

But you wouldn’t know how big the week had been from the smile on her face.

That’s the bit we love. Showing up because you love what you do. Finding out there’s still more in you. And having an absolutely brilliant time doing it.

Geraldine, you were a joy to have on our floor today.
