When I think of Bo, I immediately think of Chris and James. They came into the scene together, created together and gave back together. I remember these young guys who started coming to shows and immediately they had an awesome band. They would go on to be a part of band after band that just crushed. Decades of friendship and being a creative unit. I had the immense pleasure to release several records that these friends were involved with. All uniquely wonderful in their own ways.

My heart goes out to all of the friends and family of Bo, especially Chris and James. True bonds of friendship. Truly rare.

Some more new 7 inches added to our web store (link in bio). Some stuff I find interesting below but also full descriptions on our site.

FOR ALL ITS WORTH was a sort of melodicish, youthcrewish mix of a hardcore band from CT in the early 2000s. I had the pleasure of running into Matt Teishu many times in several different states.

The MACHINIST split is a way out of print import that is hard to find. Only 2 available each on a different fancy color.

UNTIL TODAY North Carolina straight edge hardcore from the 90s. Members also played in The First Step, Reinforce, and more.

TIED DOWN contains x VOORHEES and Break it Up. FFO early NY and Boston hardcore punk with a distinct UKHC feel.

HOLLOW GROUND was a Hardcore band formed in early 2003. Features members from local hardcore/metal bands Stand Strong, First Strike and Volition.

DAGGERS RULE is x Hit the Lights.

We lost Matt last week. Today is his birthday and also celebration of life. Wish I could be there to honor this incredible father, husband, musician and friend.

I had the immense joy of meeting Matt through music. I had the honor or releasing everything that his band Regret put out. Till this day I feel I failed them and they should have been a huge band. So incredibly talented. I am so glad we got to talk more recently and put together their discography in tribute to Sean.

I also had the great opportunity of working with him again while he was with @comebackkid_hc

He was always a pleasure to work with and so glad we became friends. He was not just a great person but an example of how someone should live. He only showed kindness and love to everyone. The first person to offer a hand to help.

For my birthday one year, Regret got me a pair of custom painted Integrity shoes. Now I am a big fan of that band but it was not until that point that I realized everyone knew I was a geek about that band. To this day they are one of my most prized possessions. Not only for what they are but who gave them to me.

I will forever miss Matt. I am so glad I got to see him recently and just talk about Reese’s peanut-butter cups and other excellent topics.

My heart goes out to his amazing family and friends. There is a 🔗 in my profile to give his family a hand.

Love you my friend.

🔗🔗 at @comebackkid_hc On may 2, 2024, Our dear friend and (previous) CBK bassist Matt K. was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a progressive & fatal neurological disease that causes muscle weakness, paralysis, and respiratory failure. Devastatingly, ALS has no cure. The aggressive progression of this disease within a year of diagnosis has hindered matt’s independence & altered his family’s day-to-day lives.

With all proceeds going to Matt and his family, our new “Don’t Lose Hope tee”, is available now for pre-order. by @ocrecs

My Father passed away a few days ago. Maybe posting this will help in some way of processing it all.

I credit my love of music to him. First music I remember really liking was Neil Diamond and that was because my Dad would play him all the time.
I remember hearing his clock radio go off in the morning and I would crawl out of my bed and go to his room and lay on the floor and just listen to the songs. Bands like the Eurythmics and Prince would ingrain themselves into me. He later would allow me to join the scam tape clubs and pay for it. He loved stereo equipment and I benefited from getting his hand-me-downs as he upgraded. While he did not understand it when I got into Metal, he supported it. In 1988 for Christmas he got me my first CD player and along with that, copies of I’M The Man and State Of Euphoria (I really wish I still had the hologram sticker that came with this) by Anthrax. It makes me so happy to think of my very conservative Father buying Anthrax cds because he knew I loved them. Many years later as a “job” in the “music business” fell into my lap, he helped me get a car so I could commute to it. This job would go on for 27 years. I probably would have quit pretty quickly as the public transit commute was about 2.5 hours each way.

He was the great problem solver. My Father was a genius at all things mechanical and trades and that is not hyperbole. Anything that needed to be fixed or built, he could do it. I grew up in a house of creation. Some of my earliest memories are of my father building both an airplane and kit car in our garage. I wish I had a fraction of the knowledge and ability that my Father had.

1- dad welding the plane he was building
2- plane
3- plane plans he drew
4- me playing on my dad’s kit car
5- infamous Anthrax cd for Christmas 88
6- shelves he built for my excessive record collection.
7- photo he took of a guy dressed as a kangaroo peeing.
8- dad and his namesake seeing each other for the last time.

Miss you dad. by @ocrecs
