POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Today, we stood alongside the father of one of the brave women arrested in Santa Ana. He shared how proud he is of his daughter for standing up for immigrant communities and defending the rights of others.

It takes courage to stand up for what is right. Our message is clear: We cannot allow a rogue agency to operate without accountability or instill fear in our communities. taken in Santa Ana, California by @ocsupsarmiento

We’re still buzzing from the energy, passion, and determination at yesterday’s press conference in Santa Ana! ✊🗳️

Community, labor, civic, and elected leaders came together to officially launch Orange County’s 2026 Get-Out-the-Vote and Election Protection Campaign and one message rang loud and clear:
Your vote matters. Your voice matters. And we’re ready to make sure every voter can participate.

From GOTV actions and community events to protecting the integrity of our elections, the work starts now. And we’re just getting started. 💪

At today’s Orange County GOTV and election protection kickoff in Santa Ana, Orange County Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento reassured voters that the county is committed to protecting their right to vote and ensuring the integrity of our elections.
Supervisor Sarmiento highlighted Orange County’s election safeguards and encouraged residents to see the process for themselves by volunteering with the Registrar of Voters, where community members can observe how ballots are processed and counted.
He also recognized the many elected officials, nonprofits, and volunteers working across Orange County to ensure voters can participate without their rights being impeded.
“Elections matter.”
And protecting the right to participate in them is a responsibility that belongs to all of us.

Yesterday, we recognized Hispanic Heritage Month at the Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting.

During these troubling times for many Latino families, it is important that we continue standing up for our community and recognize those who work every day to make this country a better place to call home.

Thank you to Judge Elizabeth G. Macias for joining us and sharing your powerful story and leadership. taken in Santa Ana, California by @ocsupsarmiento

Hispanic heritage is a vital part of our nation’s spirit, and National Hispanic Heritage Month reminds us that our American identity is built on a tapestry of different traditions and stories. From the start, our country has benefited from the wisdom and creativity of Hispanic writers, scientists, soldiers, doctors, entrepreneurs, academics, and leaders in labor and government. Our culture has been enriched by the music, art, literature, and creativity of Hispanic people. And our core values are shaped by the love of family and faith that is so important in many Hispanic communities. All these contributions help us see the full potential of America for everyone. I extend my sincere gratitude to God, my family, and my esteemed UABF team for their unwavering support of me and the foundation. Additionally, I express my heartfelt appreciation to my parents for fostering a strong connection to my Hispanic heritage. I would also like to thank all the city officials for their collaboration with UABF. by @ocsupsarmiento

The Santa Anita community mural is finally unveiled!

This beautiful piece is part of a series of murals throughout the neighborhood, with this one capturing faith—a reflection of the values, culture, and spirit that have shaped the Santa Anita community for generations.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this community vision to life, especially our talented painters, Jose Ortiz and Stevan Jeniz, for sharing their creativity and heart.

It was a pleasure joining the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Leadership Summit and having a meaningful conversation about issues that matter to our communities—from healthcare and homelessness to supporting our local businesses.

Thank you to Ambassador Vasquez for guiding the conversation and to OCHCC President Reuben D. Franco for bringing community leaders together for these important discussions. Great to connect, listen, and continue working together for Orange County. by @ocsupsarmiento

A little sneak peek from the Santa Anita Neighborhood!

This beautiful mural is coming to life just in time for this weekend’s unveiling. Proud to financially support this neighborhood beautification project and the local artists and community members bringing it to life.

There’s something special about seeing neighbors come together to add more color, culture, and pride to our community. Can’t wait to see the finished mural! taken in Santa Ana, California by @ocsupsarmiento

Celebrating El Grito de Independencia at the Historic Orange County Courthouse—a powerful reminder of the history, culture, traditions, and family ties that have always connected our County and Mexico.

Mexico’s fight for independence represents the triumph of a people determined to shape their own future. Today, that spirit continues through our families, our traditions, and the generations who proudly carry them forward.

After two years of attacks on our communities by unjust federal policies, the event was a moment to gather together, support our neighbors, and feel the strength and joy of our shared heritage.
