A #1 film like @backroomsmovie doesn’t come together without an incredible team, and our production side & in-house visual effects team is no exception, leading the charge through production and delivering countless VFX shots in post production.

Congratulations to each and every one of you on this world class achievement!

The most compelling people aren’t always the loudest in the room.

They’re the most authentic in it. They move by an internal compass - trusting their gut. Their ethos is disarmingly straightforward: Be good. Surround yourself with good. Everything else builds from there.

I got to sit down with two filmmakers who live that code. Osgood Perkins and Chris Ferguson. They make movies up here in Canada that get under your skin and stay there - films like Longlegs, The Monkey, and Keeper (and currently shooting a new film in Vancouver that will have both Nicole Kidman AND Johnny Knoxville in it).

These aren’t just thrillers or horror films; they’re deeply human stories about legacy, fear, and the quiet spaces between us. They build them not with huge budgets - quite small actually, but with a fierce belief in vision, in atmosphere, in trusting that gut.

Our conversation happened at the @whisfilmfest Whistler Film Festival- a place where stories like theirs find a home and where Chris felt the call for filmmaking many years ago.

We talked about collaboration, genre, family secrets and reading as a key to - well a lot.

It was a reminder. That stuff - creative and otherwise -can come from people who are uncompromisingly themselves. Who build a family, not just a crew. Who operate on that different frequency.

Check out a bit of our talk. It’s about more than film. It’s about living with intention.
