Counter-Strike 1.6 zombie mod maps in the mid-2000s were a DIFFERENT kind of gaming experience

Before CS2, before modern zombie survival games, we were loading into Counter-Strike 1.6 zombie servers, hiding in custom maps, camping with our friends, and trying not to get infected. From zombie escape maps to creepy survival maps and community-made servers

CS 1.6 turned classic Counter-Strike into a whole different game. The graphics were crusty, the servers were chaotic, and somehow we spent HOURS playing this.

Who remembers the OG Counter-Strike zombie mods from 2004?!

AI has given modders free range to do whatever the hell they want with older games. So I guess we put Leon in Elden Ring 🤔 Resident Elden Ring

Any LEGO game is automatically a win in my book, but LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean just hit different 🏴‍☠️

The iconic Jack Sparrow humor, the classic Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, the LEGO character animations, and the nostalgic gameplay made this one of the most underrated LEGO video games ever.

Nothing beats the golden era of LEGO games on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. We really had it all.

I would give ANYTHING to be a kid in 2010, walking through the Pokémon Center in Osaka, Japan, shopping for Pokémon cards, plushies, Nintendo DS games, and Pokémon Black & White with my parents. 💔

The nostalgia is actually unreal… Imagine being a kid in Japan during the golden era of Pokémon and getting to experience a real-life Pokémon paradise. 🇯🇵⚡

Fun fact: Pokémon Center Osaka opened at its Umeda location in November 2010, right around the launch of Pokémon Black & White in Japan. The store was packed with official Pokémon merchandise, making it a dream destination for fans growing up with Nintendo DS, Pikachu, and the original Pokémon games.

I’ve literally never even been to Osaka, but somehow I’m nostalgic for a childhood I never had. 💔 Who else would give anything to experience Pokémon in 2010?

Hood Warfare 2 is taking over gaming TikTok and the FPS community right now

A $5 Call of Duty-style shooter with absolutely UNHINGED voiceovers, chaotic multiplayer matches, killstreaks, weapon customization, and game modes that sound like they came straight out of a fever dream… HOW IS THIS REAL?

Released on Steam by indie developer Trapstar Games, Hood Warfare 2 is going viral for its ridiculous gameplay and hilarious clips. The game even hit over 4,000 concurrent players as the internet caught on. Are we downloading this or WHAT?

Rainbow Road was genuinely one of the most INSANE things to witness for the first time

🌈 Imagine showing Mario Kart Rainbow Road to a Victorian child… bro would think he just witnessed the secrets of the universe.

The colors, the music, the impossible track floating through space… Nintendo really had us experiencing peak gaming nostalgia before we even knew what peak gaming was. N64, Mario Kart, and childhood gaming memories were built different.

My bank account is fighting for its LIFE after I blew through my savings buying a PS5 Pro

Now I’m supposed to financially recover before GTA 6 drops, Pokémon releases another game, and PlayStation finds a new way to make me spend money. Gaming in 2026 is NOT for the financially responsible. Between next-gen consoles, expensive games, gaming accessories, nostalgia purchases, and limited-edition releases, being a gamer is basically an expensive hobby with no escape.

Be honest… who else is financially cooked but still adding games to their wishlist?

I actually had to put my Nintendo Switch DOWN the first time I played Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom…

WHY WAS THIS GAME SO HARD?! The puzzles, the boss fights, the shrines, the combat, and trying to survive in Hyrule had me questioning my entire gaming career.

From exploring the Sky Islands to diving into the Depths, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was NOT for the faint of heart. Nintendo really said we’re testing your problem-solving skills AND your patience.

Real talk… did anyone else struggle this much with TOTK, or am I just washed?

Nintendo really gave up on the eShop themes and honestly… THAT was the part that made me want to spend money

The Nintendo Wii Shop Channel had us opening the shop just to hear the music, browse around, and somehow convince ourselves we needed another game. Now the Switch eShop is just… there.

Bring back the personality. Bring back the themes. Bring back the Nintendo magic that made shopping for games feel like an experience.

Okay lowkey… the kids playing Roblox today are NEVER going to fully understand how insane a Total Drama Island Roblox server is

Like you’re telling me I can recreate the Total Drama Island competition, run challenges, betray my friends, and live out my Cartoon Network childhood inside Roblox??

Some of these kids weren’t even BORN when Total Drama Island premiered

Meanwhile we grew up watching Chris McLean, Owen, Gwen, Duncan, Courtney and Heather absolutely destroy each other for a million dollars.

Roblox really said: let the nostalgia games begin.

Someone really thought it was gonna be 2022

Fortnite may be a little behind on the timeline, but honestly… we’re living in a beautiful era.

Because where else can I murk Freddy Fazbear while wearing a Darth Vader skin?

Fortnite skins, insane gaming crossovers, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Star Wars, and the absolute death of crossover limits. We’ve officially reached the point where basically ANY character can end up in Fortnite. And I’m not mad about it.
