On the 17th of April, around 300 of you came together for our unofficial official launch in our new space in Vallila, Helsinki. Curious thinkers, creators and makers joined us in the space and helped bring it to life. Here are some moments from that day.

The Friday evening filled with conversations, talks, performances, an EP launch and unexpected interactions. Thank you to everyone who came and shared your energy with us. Thank you for your feedback and reflections, and to those who chose to stay connected with the space after experiencing it.

If you missed the opening of the exhibition, the exhibition Smell the Art is ongoing until the 8th of May, open from 16.00 to 20.00 on weekdays.

We also have upcoming events happening in our space so stay tuned.

Elements. A multisensory journey inspired by the four elements.

Through materials, light, sound, and scent, the Elements invites you to move through a series of distinct sensory worlds revealing a different interpretation of fire, air, water, and earth.

At the centre, a quiet pause awaits: a space to rest, breathe, and reset the senses.

But there may be more to experience than meets the eye.

Something unexpected is being prepared — inspired by the exhibition, and meant to be savoured. What it is, we’ll keep it a secret for now.

Sometimes all it takes is one message and a little curiosity. 🤎

Iván Monroy Roesch reached out to us at ODDspace with an idea, and that one DM ended up bringing him to Finland for the very first time.

Through clay and storytelling, Iván shared a pottery tradition passed down for over 3,000 years, along with stories from his own life and journey of learning.

What was planned as a four-hour workshop turned into more than five, and nobody seemed to be in a hurry to leave.

One thought that stayed with us was the beauty of saying yes to life. To curiosity, learning and the unexpected.

Thank you, Iván, for saying yes to clay, for passing your knowledge forward and for this little adventure. And thank you to everyone who said yes to being part of it. 🤎

El ceramista mexicano Iván Monroy Roesch les invita a participar en sus talleres de cerámica tradicional oaxaqueña en Helsinki, donde compartirá técnicas de modelado a mano y pulido con piedra, sin utilizar torno.

Entre 2020 y 2021, Iván aprendió estas técnicas de alfarería en Ixtlán de Juárez, Oaxaca, de su maestra Amelia Aquino (1927–2025), alfarera tradicional de esa localidad.
