Today our team spent some time volunteering at the @midohiofoodcollective market at Norton Rd! We helped unload and stock the shelves with food right before they opened for residents to come through and do their shopping. BBC Research & Consulting is inviting businesses to share their experiences with City procurement, barriers to doing business, business assistance programs, recommendations for future programs, or any other feedback related to the City's procurement process. The Office of Small Business is pleased to announce we will have a webinar meeting on 2027’s Accelerate Columbus’s Notice on Funding Availability (NOFA). This meeting is for organizations that are going to be submitting a Request for Proposal (RFP) to teach as part of Accelerate Columbus’s 2027 training program. This meeting is NOT for small businesses seeking training services that the city offers, please see our link in our bio to connect directly with our partners currently teaching these courses. To join this meeting, please email SmallBusiness@columbus.gov by June 24th at 5:00 pm and you will receive an entry link. The meeting will be held on June 25th at 10:00 am on Webex. Thank you to the City of Columbus's Women's Initiative Network (W.I.N.) for the invitation to speak today at the first event of their new coffee and conversation series, She Brews Courage. W.I.N. is dedicated to creating a space for meaningful dialogue, learning, and connection as they explore topics important to women in this four-part series. Women's Fund President and CEO Kelley Griesmer discussed our 2025 report, Making Women Wealthy and Free, and answered questions about what it means for women in Central Ohio to be truly free. Last week, we celebrated small businesses at the @mahoganycolumbus Small Business Awards. Our Small Business Coordinator Ariana spoke to the resources within Columbus for the small business including our Accelerate Columbus program that teaches small businesses marketing, A.I., money management and more!

In addition she spoke about the Power of One grant, a $10,000 competitive grant for exterior renovations of a business including benches, facade improvements and planters. We're still soaking in the love from our Mahogany Columbus Special Edition and collaboration with The City of Columbus in producing this notable issue! 💙

This night was a true celebration of small and minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs shaping Central Ohio.

Huge thank you to Council Member Nick Bankston for championing opportunity and equity, and to our Small Business Awardees — we see you, we honor you, we celebrate you.
