Columbus has some serious CIVIC GAME CHANGERS! What an incredible experience delivering I Am a Civic Game Changer at the City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods’ Dan Charles Award Event. The room was filled with commissioners, liaisons, City employees, and community leaders who genuinely CARE about the neighborhoods they serve. We laughed. We connected. We celebrated. And we talked about what it means to: Connect leaders. Create change. Leave a legacy. One of my favorite moments was watching people intentionally connect with someone new. Because I reminded them: If you’re doing life alone, you’re doing it all wrong. Someone may be carrying the connection, resource, or experience you need — and YOU may be carrying something someone else needs. Congratulations to Tara, this year’s Dan Charles Award recipient, and to every Civic Game Changer continuing to make Columbus better. Here’s the challenge: What are you doing to make your neighborhood more connected, caring, and beautiful? Don’t just live in your community. Help change the game in it. #CivicGameChanger #IChangeTheGame #LiveWithLyfe #CommunityLeadership #CityOfColumbus CommunityImpact @columbusgov @odicolumbus @cbusneighbor

Today our team spent some time volunteering at the @midohiofoodcollective market at Norton Rd! We helped unload and stock the shelves with food right before they opened for residents to come through and do their shopping. While we serve the public and community in our everyday roles, this was a great way to give back further, visit one of our neighborhoods and support a wonderful community organization!

Columbus ArborFest wrapped up this past weekend, but the fight for our urban forest is year-round. 🌳 Green Columbus Executive Director Shelly Douglas and Assistant City Forester Chad Hoff presented on the importance of trees in our communities and what the City and nonprofit partners like Green Columbus are doing to achieve the 40% tree canopy goal recommended by the Urban Forestry Master Plan by 2050. We were delighted to have a full room of tree advocates and concerned Columbus residents who came together to learn, connect, and support the future of our urban forest. #columbus #Environment #community #urbanforest
