The talent. The energy. The excellence. ✨

Thank you to the NAACP for the opportunity to pour into the next generation of 500+ Black leaders, artists, innovators, and changemakers. It was an honor to encourage these talented young people and remind them that they belong exactly where they are.

What an incredible experience at the annual national NAACP ACT-SO Competition! We had honest conversations about overcoming imposter syndrome, managing performance anxiety, and trusting the gifts that earned these remarkable young people their place.

Remember young people:
You belong here.
You earned your spot.
Pause. Breathe. Perform.

#4️⃣2️⃣! Didn’t catch a flight this year, but still made it happen. Canceled the original trip thanks to TSA chaos, but…
…rest and self-care will always be priority. No boarding pass, no problem! I’m still celebrating like I’ve got one in hand ✈️ Cheers to 42!🥂 #March31 #Birthday #Aries Apparently, #RichUncle vibes 😎🤣 taken in Pendry Baltimore by @offdaclokdoc

For my last post remembering this day, five years ago on March 4, 2021, I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation and become Dr. V! It was a journey that transformed me in ways words can barely capture. It wasn’t just about the title or the academic achievement; it was about the deep lessons in resilience, perseverance, and the power of believing in oneself even when the road gets tough. This journey taught me that growth doesn’t always come from success, but from the courage to keep going despite the setbacks. Forever grateful for the knowledge gained, the mentors who guided me, and the strength I discovered within.

For those who are currently in doctoral programs and working on dissertations or doctoral capstones, “You got this!” And if you’re needing a little motivation, here’s a quote that got me through the journey: “The cost of procrastination is the life you could have lived.”

Sincerely, Dr. V

Happy new year! We made it. Here’s to blessings, peace, and solitude 🥂 No long message about being a go getter or handling business or locking in. Yes, I want all of those things for everyone, however…
…with all that’s going on in the 🌎, I’m just grateful for peace. Hope you can feel the peace permeating through your screen. #Blessings #2026 taken in Washington D. C. by @offdaclokdoc

About last night…
…a time was had!
Did I wait until the end of the night to take pics? Yes.
Did I tear up the dance floor? Yes.
Did I sweat right through my tuxedo? Yes.
Am I gonna feel it in the morning? Yes.
Would I do it all over again? Yes. 😎 #congressionalblackcaucus #CBC2025 #BlackAndWhiteGala #BlackTie #Dapper #Gent taken in Marriott Marquis Washington, DC by @offdaclokdoc
