Happy World Water Day!

Today at @digifarm.tz , we are proud to celebrate World Water Day by taking action to restore the Mto Mbezi through planting around 500 trees along its banks.

Mto Mbezi is one of the most affected rivers in Dar es Salaam, facing serious pressure from waste pollution and harmful human activities. By planting trees along the riverbank, we are contributing to the protection of this important water source by helping to reduce soil erosion, strengthen the riverbanks, and lessen the impact of floods and other environmental disasters that can arise when natural vegetation is lost.

This year’s World Water Day theme, “WATER & GENDER”, reminds us that water has no gender, yet it impacts people of all genders in different ways. Protecting water sources is not the responsibility of one group alone, but a shared duty for all of us. We all have a role to play in preserving and restoring the water systems that sustain our communities and our future.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Kinondoni Municipal, @successhandstz , @hudefo_ , and @elcaenvironmentalfirm for being part of this meaningful World Water Day celebration with us. Together, we are taking steps toward a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment for all. by @official.ete

Karibu 19% ya chakula chote Duniani (UNEP) huaribika Kila mwaka kwa kuzalisha taka za Kuoza, kiasi hichi huchochea kuzalisha kwa hewa ukaa na huaribu Rasilimali muhimu kama vile udongo, maji nk.

Katika muendelezo wa kuadhimisha Siku ya Kimataifa ya Taka Sifuri, Mazingira Plus tuliungana na Halmashauri ya Manispaa ya Temeke, TCCI, United Planet na Shule ya Sekondari Kibasila katika kuratibu maadhimisho ya siku ya Taka Sifuri Duniani mwaka 2026.

Maadhimisho yamefanyika kwa kutoa mafunzo kwa vijana 40 kutoka taasisi mbalimbali za kiraia, vyuo vikuu, wanafunzi wa shule za Sekondari kuhusu kubadili Taka oza (organic waste) na kuwa mbolea ya asili (mboji) kwa nadharia na vitendo kama kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu ilivyotoa msisitizo kuhusu Taka za Kuoza. Mafunzo yamefanyika katika shule ya Sekondari Kibasila - Manispaa Temeke.

Toka mwaka 2023 Mazingira Plus kwa kushirikiana na TCCI tumekuwa tukitekeleza mradi wa Taka Sifuri ngazi ya Shule ili kubadili tabia za wanajamii za kutenganisha taka katika umri sahihi.

Tunaishukuru sana ofisi ya Mkurugenzi wa Manispaa ya Temeke, Taasisi ya TCCI, United Planet, Shule ya Sekondari Kibasila nk kwa ushirikiano na uratibu wa pamoja.
