I’m excited to announce my upcoming album ‘David Benoit Conducts a Vince Guaraldi Holiday Symphony’, out digitally October 30, with CD and vinyl available October 30. On the album, with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, we bring full orchestral arrangements to the iconic, timeless melodies of Vince Guaraldi, including the music from ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’.

I’ve done a few Charlie Brown records where the focus is mostly on me playing the piano, but this is the first time the concept was ‘Let’s focus on David as the conductor and arranger.’ Of course, the real focus is on Vince Guaraldi, he’s the one.

Rehearsing for my concert on the beach at Catalina island! by @official_davidbenoit

In 2001 I founded The Asia America Youth Orchestra as an adjunct youth program while I was music director of The Asia America Symphony Orchestra. After 21 years, we closed our doors. But a new door has opened. Tomorrow night on September 26 at SOKA U, I will conduct a 40 piece orchestra with several members that were just children in our Asia America Youth Orchestra 16 years ago. They have all gone on to have professional careers in music earning Grammy Awards and prestigious positions in orchestras around the world. I cannot be prouder of these amazing young men and women.
