WAYF a visual exploration of identity a process and a conversation when i lost my father i also lost my sense of identity….or whatever i was left with after starting a new life in London from scratch. so i went back and forth on the timeline of my existence desperately and almost chaotically yet so determined to look for clues that would guide me towards a more permanent alignment with my spine, something that would keep me grounded into my being, something that could never be taken away from me again. losing a parent forced me to acknowledge that part of identity which i decided at some point to leave behind bc it did not look cool enough and it silently made me feel a bit ashamed of it. but that denied part of me was exactly what helped me survive through so many transitions and outgrow everything i was told i should or shouldn’t be or do. and that is now the first thing i want to share with you all ___ the answer to the most asked question i had to face, a question that would embarrass me in the past and which now has given me back something that no one could ever take away from me, a beautiful complete sense of self and cultural heritage which i am still exploring and learning to honor I COME FROM LOVE 🌞 credits: visuals: personal footage,@__alinanegoita edited by: @oh___frank edit assistant: @sebastianflorea words by : @oh___frank guitars & vibes: @takageorge, @courtszsinclair master: @takageorge produced by: @oh___frank Special thanks to: @waju_ekeji @__alinanegoita @bastien.music @jarreltheyoung @mrthoro mom 🌹 dad ⛅️ GOD by @oh___frank

Become who you already are…. my soul’s mantra….and even if i might move slow in this world, my pace is gentle and considerate to all the songs that I’ve written since i started a new life in London, songs that helped me contain myself w all my emotions, transformations, transitions, sheddings and understandings….i call it alchemy…..i came here lost but music, art, poetry, presence, friends, therapy and faith put me in alignment w my spirit and my destiny. I am deeply grateful for all the support & everyone who showed up to my first official event in London. Sold out!!! That’s mad! It was the best birthday gift i could’ve had and the first time I celebrated my bday since i came here, a celebration of a journey i never planned but it always was part of my spirit’s plan, and a celebration of everyone who became part of it. THE J.A.R. EXPERIENCE 10 years ago I moved to London and left all my community behind. on 28/07/26 i’m launching J.A.R. _ Just A Response _ to my journey here, and to my mission of giving back and honouring what has been, so far, a powerful, twisted, and deeply meaningful shapeshifting experience. i came here entitled to take, to extract and benefit from this city’s richness, yet i constantly felt like an outsider, because I wasn’t paying attention. i wasn’t actively listening to what London actually has to offer. i got lost and distracted, with no trace or sense of identity left in my bones. it was when i touched the extreme edges of my being that I started to recognise where my centre is. i started paying attention. i started listening. i reconnected with my identity. and then i started exploring London’s identities from a place of curiosity and tender need, searching for community. only these last couple of years can I say I’ve found something precious. i found my people. yet i also found that our current social settings don’t make it easy to build steady connections and grow them. growth means space for correction, friction, challenge, knowing it’s safe. space to come as we are: perfectly imperfect, so different, yet the same in so many ways. we keep floating, hoping things will land in our lives rather than questioning our own role in this perpetual sense of disconnect. i’ve had to acknowledge my own ignorance, and re-educate myself on what London actually is, beyond its beautiful, messy, loud ways of distracting and entertaining our spirits. what I’ve found is that the backbone of this city is something more subtle and gentle. quiet, yet resilient. it’s that sense of recognising each other as fragmented parts of togetherness, mirroring our strengths and weaknesses simply to remind us this is all just a human experience. by the end of the day, people need people. not systems. the aim of this space is CULTIVATING A SENSE OF BELONGING inviting the practice of social softness, re-defining social dynamics to create meaningful steady connections bc COMMUNITY IS THERAPY. join me on the JAR experience as a co-designer not just a guest love, anca by @oh___frank

I used to cling to them, trying to figure out their role, until I shrank into a smaller version of myself. the truth? answers don’t come in the moment. they come when we step back, observe, and let experiences inform us, not define us. there are only three roles we play: victim, aggressor, savior.
