Hi, 👋🏼 We’re Jesse & Sako coming to you as TOYA, a coffee pop-up at the Ayako & Family U District Market booth.

This Saturday and next, 10/10 and 10/17, we’ll be serving pour-over coffee featuring our friends @stampactcoffee single origin beans alongside our regular toast menu.

This weekend, we’ll be pouring Mwendi Wega from Kirinyaga, Kenya. We are very excited to be serving this coffee: it has some lovely darker fruit notes, like blackberry and black cherry, with the warm sweetness of molasses. A fall transitional cup, this is an expressive drink on its own and also compliments our jams well. You can read more about the mill and the farmers of this variety on Stamp Act’s website (and we encourage it :))

You can purchase a cup à la carte or as a set with a slice of toast.

SNEAK PEEK
My first single: "ㅅHOWER" - jeseul (오제슬)
Releasing: April 14th (bandcamp)
also next week (spotify/apple music)

after all this time playing music I am releasing my first single. I am always writing, but this is my first time working this hard on a song. I am excited to finally share my musical voice with the world and I hope you will listen in next week.

sakosako and I went to a photo exhibit at the Getty when we were in LA and I got inspired to shoot my first roll of black and white film in ages. excited to keep taking photos together and being able to experience her photography

☕️Thanks For Making The Best Espresso Macchiatos in Seattle

Stella and I went on a little adventure today to go and celebrate the man, the legend, and the coolest cat in the neighborhood @ohjeseul.

Jesse’s Espresso Macchiato game is like none other. The perfect foam matched with hearts of foam art in tiny ceramic glasses are pure perfection. Most folks toss a splash of foam on top of the espresso or turn the espresso into a cappuccino. Not Jesse! He gets a thrill out of creating the perfect mini drink. Words cannot describe the joy I feel every time I walk out with my baby macchiato done the proper way. Jesse can be found at the bar at @porchlightcoffee Tuesday through Thursdays!

sometimes days with you feel like a dream~
Yesterday was my birthday and I received more love throughout the day than I have yet learned to accept. Love can be friendly, familial, communal, romantic, spiritual; expressed in action, feeling, inward & outward, it’s more than I know and in all these ways I have received love from Sako these past 111 days (& in what we call the before times).
Recently we did a card exercise together where we tried to distill our identity into 3 words and in both of our distillations were expressions of our art and creativity. We dream of what it can look like to vulnerably create in front of each other and for my birthday Sako got me a guitar that we can take together on our trips and as I travel back and forth from her place to mine. I probably know too much about gear and I know this guitar was not the obvious choice but one made with care and love and a deep understanding of me and my needs.
Holding this gift I dream not only of music but of moving through life in a relationship where two people can support each other’s creativity and self expression. Thank you Sako tiger alien lovebean for this gift and what it represents for who we want to be for each other. You shed tears when you gave it to me and it brought me deep joy that you could feel the gratitude that lives in our tender love.
