‼️worth reading!

A little goldfinch sitting on a branch, looking pretty sad in the rain. Its bright yellow feathers are drenched and droopy, kind of making it look a bit ragged. Usually cheerful and chatty, it’s quiet now, just listening to the raindrops splashing around. Its eyes, usually sparkling, look a bit dull and downcast. It’s such a relatable scene, showing how even the happiest little bird can feel a bit gloomy in a downpour. taken in Germany by @okbit_romar

Another new Lifer ‼️-Meet the juvenile purple gallinule. A plainer, pale brown waterbird distinguished by its greenish-bronze back and wings, duller bill, and very long toes.

Another Endemic Lifer ‼️ added to my list. It can only be found in the Luzon, Philippines 🇵🇭. Meet the “Coleto” – a unique creature that stands out with its strikingly bare, pinkish-flesh colored head, setting it apart from the rest!

-May siyentipikong pangalan na Sarcops na nagmula sa Greek na meaning “mukhang karne” at ang calvus naman ay Latin para sa “kalbo”.

Lifer alert‼️- The “manok-manukan” of Polillo Island, Quezon Province is the Rough-crested Malkoha (Dasylophus superciliosus).

Known as Tagistik in different dialect, it is a large cuckoo endemic in the Greater Luzon, Philippines region including Polillo island. Distinct for its shaggy red crest and glossy black plumage.

Lifer‼️-The “tuririyak” is a local Polillo Island name for the Philippine Bulbul (Hypsipetes philippinus).
