Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

To every parent who is carrying a baby they never got to hold for long enough, or at all: we see you today. 🤍

A loss like this can feel very quiet from the outside, while on the inside it is anything but. Maybe you are remembering a due date, a name you chose, a nursery you never finished, or a future you had already begun to imagine. All of that was real, and so is the love that is still here.

There is no right way to grieve, and no timetable for it. Some days you may want to talk. Some days you may want to sit in silence. Both are okay.

If you would like to mark today, you could light a candle this evening, say their name out loud, or simply take a few quiet minutes for yourself. And if you would rather let the day pass gently, that is okay too.

You do not have to carry this alone. If you or your partner would like a safe, compassionate space to be heard, we are here. Call or WhatsApp 081 129 4284, or visit www.okonguarri.com. Anonymous messages are always welcome through the enquiry form on our website.

Thinking of you today.

When is it time to reach out? 🌤️

Sometimes we wait until things feel unbearable before asking for help. But you don’t need to be in crisis to deserve support.

It may be time to talk to someone if:
• You feel overwhelmed, anxious or low most days
• Your sleep, appetite or energy has changed
• Things you used to enjoy feel empty
• You rely on alcohol or other substances to cope
• Your work or relationships are starting to suffer

Reaching out early is a sign of strength, not weakness. Watch our next post to see how you can reach our team.

As we near the end of Suicide Prevention Month, we just want to remind you of something simple. 🤍

Please check on your people.

The friend who has been a little quieter.
The colleague who says they’re “fine.”
The person who always seems to be there for everyone else.

Send the message. Make the call. Sit with them. Ask again.

“How are you, really?”

You may never know what that small moment of care means to someone.

And if you’re the one who is struggling — please don’t suffer in silence. Reach out. Let someone sit with you in the heaviness.

Teens don’t always say “I’m struggling.” Sometimes, they show it through silence, irritability, or a sudden change in habits.

If your gut tells you something is off, listen to it. A gentle conversation can open the door to healing. 🚪✨

If they need a safe space to process, our Adolescent Therapeutic Programme (30 Nov - 7 Dec) is here to help them build coping skills and brighter tomorrows.

DM us or email referrals@okonguarri.com to secure a spot. Let’s help them heal, grow, and thrive. 🌿 by @okonguarri
