POSTS STORIES REELS

Things I believe 100%.

Some lessons you can only learn by living through them. Some truths hurt to accept, but they change the way you see people, relationships, and yourself.

Not every lesson comes easy. Not every goodbye needs an explanation. And sometimes, choosing yourself is the hardest thing you’ll ever do.

Which one resonates with you the most?

1. Until you live through it, you don’t understand it.
2. Pain changes people.
3. Nobody is so busy they cannot answer or call back.
4. The right choices also hurt.
5. Not receiving a message is also a message.
6. Someone who loves you doesn’t do something knowing it will hurt you.
7. You don’t receive what you give, but you always give what you are.
8. Time doesn’t heal pain; you learn how to live with it.
9. You can forgive, but never forget.
10. Don’t be the cause, be the solution.
11. Salt and sugar look the same.
12. Give yourself grace.
13. No one is coming to save you.
14. Silence is the loudest scream!

Pull up a chair, lads. Let’s talk about something we don’t talk about enough.

See that guy above you? 👆

I’ve been through some pretty dark times myself. Times when things have felt fucking heavy and I’ve not really known how to deal with it or talk about it.

I’m lucky to have some fucking great friends who check in on me, ask how I’m really doing, and are there when I need them.

But it got me thinking about how many men don’t have that.

Especially men in their 40s.

Relationships falling apart.
Money and work pressure.
Kids growing up.
Loneliness.
Anxiety.
Health problems.
Feeling like life hasn’t turned out how we imagined.

And the numbers are brutal.

In Germany, 7,414 men died by suicide in 2024 — 71.5% of all suicide deaths.

398 of them were men aged 45–49.

In England and Wales, men’s suicide rate was more than three times higher than women’s in 2024.

These aren’t just statistics.

They’re someone’s mate. Someone’s dad. Someone’s brother. Someone’s son.

And the bloke who’s struggling rarely looks like he’s struggling.

He might be the funniest guy in the room.
Still going to work.
Still coaching the kids.
Still saying:

“I’m fine, mate.”

Maybe he isn’t.

So check on your mates.

Don’t ask once. Ask twice.

Call him.
Go see him.
Sit with him.

“No seriously mate. How are you REALLY doing?”

Because sometimes that conversation is the difference between someone suffering alone and someone realising they don’t have to.

We tell men to be strong.

Maybe sometimes being strong means being the mate who notices.

Don’t wait for the funeral to wish you’d made that call.

Check in.
Look out for each other.
We fucking need to. ❤️ by @olc.dave

A special thank-you to Peter for stepping up as a leader, sticking it out at quarterback, and giving everything you had for this team.

I also want to acknowledge the incredible leadership our imports brought to this team—their experience, toughness, accountability, and willingness to lead made a lasting impact on everyone around them.

This season was about more than football. It was about leadership, growth, second chances, and learning that one mistake does not define a young man. Watching players learn, mature, and get back up after falling was one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

I also have to thank our incredible coaching staff. The long hours, preparation, conversations, practices, and sacrifices often go unnoticed, but every coach played an important role in building this team and helping these young men grow.

Personally, this season meant more to me than many of you will probably ever understand. This has been one of the most difficult years of my life, and through everything I was dealing with, this team gave me something to look forward to. You gave me purpose, laughter, competition, and a place where I could be surrounded by people who mattered to me.

I hope I have made an impact on some of you, because I know without question that every one of you has made an impact on me. I hope you know how much you all mean to me and how grateful I am for the friendships that came from this team. I know that I have made friends for life here.

Nine games in ten weeks, injuries, setbacks, long practices, and the constant grind tested all of us. From those cold days of winter to the end of this journey, we continued to show up, compete, and fight for one another.

Years from now, we may not remember every score or every play, but I hope we remember the lessons, the second chances, the battles, and the people who stood beside us.

Football brought us together, but what we built goes far beyond the game.

I love you all.

It was one hell of a ride. by @olc.dave

Today my little girl took her first big step into the world of school. 🎒🎀

This day means more to me than I can put into words. Life gave me a second chance to be here for moments like this, and standing beside you today, watching you take that first step, is something I will treasure forever.

And of course, she picked out Daddy’s shirt this morning so that we could match her dress and my shirt. 🥹💕 I think she may already have me wrapped around her little finger.

Watching you grow into the beautiful, funny, confident little girl you are is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I’m so incredibly proud of you, Riley-Hope, and I can’t wait to watch you learn, grow, make friends, and discover who you’re meant to become.

Daddy will always be right there cheering you on. ❤️

Your first day of school — the beginning of so many amazing adventures. 🎓✨ by @olc.dave

What I’ve learned about men’s friendships…

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that friendship isn’t measured by how many people know your name.

It’s measured by who answers when your world is falling apart.

I’ve learned that the strongest men aren’t the ones who never struggle.

They’re the ones who have a brother willing to sit beside them while they do.

The older I get, the less I care about who buys the next round, who has the biggest house, or who looks successful on social media.

I care about the man who checks in without being asked.

The one who tells me the truth, even when it’s hard.

The one who shows up when everyone else disappears.

Life has taught me that real friendships aren’t built during the celebrations.

They’re built in the silence after the phone call.

In hospital waiting rooms.

After divorce papers.

After funerals.

After failure.

When life strips away your pride and you’re left wondering how you’re going to keep going.

That’s when you discover who your brothers really are.

I’ve learned that men don’t always need advice.

Sometimes we just need someone who will sit with us long enough to remind us we aren’t fighting alone.

If life has given you even one man who would drop everything because you said, “I need you”…

Don’t take him for granted.

Tell him what he means to you.

Because brotherhood isn’t found.

It’s earned.

And after everything life has taught me…

I’ve realized that a loyal friend isn’t just one of life’s greatest blessings.

Sometimes…

He’s the reason a man makes it through. by @olc.dave

There’s something about this game you can’t fake.

No shortcuts. No excuses.
It’s built in the dark — cold nights, early mornings, and reps nobody sees. Breaking an offense down to nothing… then building it back up piece by piece until it finally starts to breathe with intent.

You watch it struggle.
You feel every mistake.
You rebuild it again… and again.

It’s equal parts joy and frustration — until one day it clicks. Violent. Clean. Unstoppable.

That’s the process. That’s the love. That’s why I do this.

Proud of what we’ve built in Wetzlar — a tough, physical identity earned through work — and even more proud of a staff that shows up ready to go to war for it every day.

We’re not done. Not even close. 💥💪 by @olc.dave
