“Let it be known, that on this night… The Great Pumpkin took flight.”

For cadets in Company C-2, a special Halloween-themed tradition, “Flight of the Great Pumpkin”, also known simply as “Flight”, has been a unit staple since 1963.

Inspired by Charles Schulz’ 1959 comic strip of the same name, Flight is held annually either on Halloween or in the days leading up to it. Arguably one of the most unique traditions on the Quad, Flight of the Great Pumpkin is a tradition that binds generations of C-2 cadets together through one evening.

Read more about the history of Flight, its present day iteration and its place in Company C-2’s identity at tx.ag/Flight2025. taken in Texas A&M Corps of Cadets by @oldarmycocks
