In the words of the late, great Toby Keith, “…it’s the American way.”

Today, we stood together as Aggies and as Americans to honor our nation and the values that unite us, those lost on September 11th, 2001 and the spirit of selfless service and leadership that defines America. 🇺🇸👍

On the fourth day of freshman orientation week, Regiment Fish conducted a mock physical fitness test that included push-ups, a plank, and a 1 mile run. The fish demonstrated resilience and strength. Later in the day, they were taken on a campus and classroom tour by their cadre. They had the opportunity to see where their classes would be held in the upcoming fall semester.

Since the start of Freshman Orientation Week, the Class of ‘30 has been diligently learning all that cadet life within the Corps entails.

On Sunday afternoon, upperclassmen from each outfit gave the fish a small break from the intensity by giving them their first fish cut. This marks the beginning of each freshman’s journey to become a member of the Corps of Cadets.

We’d like to take a moment to recognize the awards our stellar triad received over Family Weekend, for their hard-work and dedication to the battalion:

CO: Enrique Garcia ‘26 - Most Outstanding Minor Unit Commander award

XO: Torsten Gliszczynski ‘26 - Most scholastic senior in Naval ROTC award

SGM: Rohan Patel ‘27 - The Captain Kelly Castleberry ‘82 Memorial Award

Excellence has been, and will continue to be the hallmark of 5th battalion in everything that we do, and these awards are a true testament to that!

Special Thanks to the Corps of Cadets association for these awards, and congrats gentlemen!

This week’s cadet spotlight is Owen Sayeski. Owen is an Economics major from Athens, Georgia. He plays attack, goalie, and is our shooting coach. In his free time Owen likes to collect records, go thrifting, and be spooky 🎃
