Secret powers of lightweight and easy make a great combo! Both in stock at Old Creel Canoe & Kayak.
.
@deltakayaks are beyond light weight, they are great hull designs that are fun and easy to paddle.
.
@thule Hullavator is the easiest kayak rack to use. No lifting kayaks overhead. And no climbing up on tires to get the straps in the correct place. And the lift assist lifts 40 lbs for you.

Special Delivery…Kayak-Style!

There is something truly unique about the Maritime paddling community. It’s a tight-knit tribe built on mutual support, collaboration, and a shared love for the water.

Case in point: A fellow PEI instructor, @lesterberezowski , ordered a rescue stirrup from @oldcreel for his upcoming programs. Around the same time, a student enrolled in our recent Ocean Discovery program happened to be picking up supplies at Old Creel.

Knowing we were all connected, the team at Old Creel handed the stirrup to the student to bring across to PEI for me, trusting it would find its way to Lester.

Fast forward to the final day of our Ocean Discovery program. We were paddling through the home bay where Lester lives, so I stashed the stirrup in my day hatch. I sent Lester a quick heads-up that we’d be passing through a nearby channel.

Lo and behold, as we rounded the bend, there he was waiting on the shore! I dug the stirrup out of my hatch and executed a proper kayak-to-shore delivery.

It’s easy to default to massive online retailers, but moments like this remind you why local matters. Old Creel isn’t just an outfitter, they care because they’re actively embedded in our community, supporting local initiatives, and out on the water right alongside us (you’ll often spot Mike @hfxpaddler out enjoying the rivers and ocean!).

When you need gear or find yourself in a pinch, small local businesses show up for you.
