Appliqueing away on both projects atm!💙💙💙
I very rarely do EPP.......I find it's just another time consuming part of the process.......BUT I do envy EPP when it comes to appliqueing down your hand pieced project onto the background!😬

You can't really tell how🤏widdle my pieces are from a picture.....and I bothered to count....there's 100 itty bitty diamond sides to applique😲😲😲
But look I'm getting there!

Next update I will post mine next to the original

So there I was sitting in my safe space keeping to myself stitching away when all of a sudden peer pressure grabbed me by the throat😂😂😂
A mystery friend 'suggested' this would be a good project so here I am knee deep into something new!

My next BA block effectively got pushed aside and I drew up the design.......I've halved the size of mine.....I mean of course I have!😉
We.....myself and said mystery friend.....are now busy on the dopamine wagon of a new project!

Another block done n' dusted for my Chestnut Street quilt which is a SAL designed by @jeanakimball

My fave is the top right flutterby🦋.......my least favourite are my pair of red/yellow birdies!
Those two fabrics are a little close and too mergey-mergey....oh well🤷‍♀️

T'is been a hot minute since we last did an OPD: aka Oldepatchart Day
🤗😍🤗😍🤗

Here's a curious quilt for you🤔......it was clearly made around the 1950's but including some very early toiles etc.....do you think she reached into Great Grannie's scrap bag.

The second photo shows some of the later bark cloths and other fabrics from the 50's......such a mish-mash😵of era and style.

I love-love-love💗💗💗that twisted ribbon border and how well that contains the centre........also the random appliques filling up every dead spot💙💙💙 #msginspired
And whatabout those weird🍑corners!?!

I will have to go on a deep dive to find the history on this one......it was a private sale so no actual auction info in my files......t'was just called 'The London Quilt' purchased August 2004

Enjoy the weekend ahead......I have two free days from doing☕☕☕and I'm really looking forward to that!

It's been a hot month since my last confession.....I mean post lol🤣🤣🤣I'm getting there ever soooooo slowly.......the last corner Horn of Plenty/Cornucopia block is donesky

I now have some drafting to do to get the 4th basket drawn........I neeeeed symmetry lol and there's only #3 x basket blocks in @jeanakimball Chestnut Street block patterns

I'm always up for a challenge.....so we will see how that goes😉

I'm busy keeping to myself in my own little pocket of the world.......stitching my worries away.....hopefully stitching helps you too😘😘😘

Here's my original Starmania quilt plus the #4 iterations
I think I have now got all that out of my system🤣🤣🤣

Starmania 3.0 is now live up on my website.....if you already have the original set you can just purchase the new joiner template and/or EPP papers

I still love that blue💙and white🤍 antique quilt👉👉👉that started this journey and it's perhaps my fave

I had a question from the lovely Mary re the size of the hexies in my 1830-50's English coverlet....see previous posts. 😍🤗😍🤗😍
The answer is ⅝"

I figured seeing as I had pulled it back out of the cupboard and unwrapped 'er again I would take some more pix and share of the templates themselves.

I was really lucky with this piece as I purchased it direct from the family and have a fair bit of history etc........whilst most of the papers are still in situ they had removed a few to do their own research.
My fave is this one re the birth of either Prince👑Alfred 1844 or Prince👑Arthur 1850 to Queen👑Victoria.

Check the template with what I THINK is 500 tons of the best house coffee bound for South Australia aka the colonies.....free of all extra charges on proof of shipment!
History is fascinating😍😍😍

Tulips and flutterbys

This is my 'Fandy Dandy Tulips' freebie pattern which I adjusted to fit into my version of @jeanakimball's Chestnut Street project.

I drafted this pattern almost 8 years years ago via an antique applique block in my collection........you can find it under 'Free Patterns' on my website.

T'was a bit empty so I added all the bugs to try and fill 'er up a bit.....hopefully those bugs are only pollinators and don't plan to chew holes in my blooms😂😂😂
