In case you don’t already know, we have a one or two double bed apartment with gorgeous sea views (not shown here as that would mess with the aesthetics) that we offer as holiday accommodation, plus a shoot location, its based in the heart of St Leonards on Sea overlooking Warrior Square.

We bought it in April last year, we spent six months completely transforming it from a dated, dark and dingy apartment with low ceilings to what it is today. It was hard labour, it required lots of imagination and calculating measurements all through the night in order to maximise every potential nook, cranny and natural light opportunity.

We got there in the end and had two wonderful months, at the most, of functioning before our entire building was covered in scaffolding for the following seven or so months.

Not such a great sea view after all !!

Despite protestation from my side the scaffolding just would not go !! But finally it has and our apartment is completely booking ready.

We have had some wonderful guests already, but the common theme seems to be that my amateur iphone pics are not doing the space justice !!

So always open to improving what we do, I have called in the big guns and persuaded Andreas @andreasbleckmannphotos to dust off his tripod and do some interior shots with, yes you heard it here first, a digital camera!!

He is a film photographer as a rule, but with much arm bending, we got the job done. It does look rather nice.

Thank you Andreas.

For more info about booking this space and the beautiful guest rooms we have at the oldtownhaus please go to our website in the bio.

Hope to see you soon!

Ps let me know if you want a before and after 😉 taken in Warrior Square Gardens by @oldtownhaus

With so much going on right now, getting ready for Andreas’s exhibition and having just had a crazy busy summer, we have decided to take a break from hosting guests in our house. The appartment will remain available for bookings. by @oldtownhaus

Printing, printing, printing !! George at Rapid eye just told us he has never seen a photography project be worked on so hard and so methodically, with such focus on detailed and a topic so well recorded. This is so lovely to hear as we have worked and still are working our socks off. No one more than Andreas. I am so so proud xx by @oldtownhaus

Oh no !!! I missed black cat appreciation day. It’s a day late and working away from home, so here is an archive pic formerly posted by @andreasbleckmannphotos of our very lovely, bonkers Olly, who is always ready for food. But keeps it to himself 🐈‍⬛🖤🐈‍⬛

A special thanks to @theoldpotatostore for posting a gorgeous picture of Margot which prompted me to post our own little chap

Iv not posted much for oldtownhaus recently as I have been working behind the scenes with Andreas @andreasbleckmannphotos on his forthcoming solo exhibition in Germany. So happy to see his Rock-A-Nore project has also been published in the online archive of L’Œil de la Photographie @loeildelaphotographie by @oldtownhaus

Working flat out on Andreas’s @andreasbleckmannphotos upcoming solo exhibition in September. It’s knackering but fun. We have been working on this project for more than 5 years and it’s sooooo satisfying to see it physically coming to life. All hand printed by Andreas’s fair hands at @rapideye.darkroom Will keep you posted on progress. Or go to Andreas’s website for exhibition details. www.andreasbleckmann.com by @oldtownhaus
