When the night has fallen, when invisible hands have pulled foggy blankets over the sleeping meadows, when I gaze into the stars, I silently think of you, and maybe - distant and afar - your nose tickles, as these were our moments, and maybe our thoughts and silent yearnings and dreams meet somewhere and embrace one another, whispering in each others' ears, how wonderful, mesmerizing and beautiful the times have been and could have remained.

Thin fog blankets high up in the sky covered the dark silence, but above it some of the stars glowed even lighter. And you just stand underneath in solemn solitude, gazing up and admiring the tiny yet huge wonders of creation.

I tend to sneak out late at night, when most souls have sunken deep into vivid dreams, when the bright light of the day has vanished into hiding and travelled further - to illuminate the days of others. At these hours, when almost everyone's asleep, I seek and mostly find inner peace gazing at the stars and maybe listening to the secrets that old trees or rocks murmur into the mild breeze. One very special place to experience this is the Devil's Wall (Teufelsmauer) in the Harz mountains. I had only like three full days there, back when I was on vacation - yet those summer days were rather the opposite of bright summer days. Rather eerie and gloomy, dark and twisted - and gigantic piles of clouds laid across the mountain tops like a colossal stranded whale. Yet I took my chance - and I found at least some small moments where the cloudy whale seemed to lift his fin and for a minute let the star sparkled sky shine through.

Es ist vorbei.

In Weener, wo die Innenstadt schon seit Jahren ausblutet, war das Eiscafé @veneziaweener immer noch Anziehungspunkt. Pokal bei den Weltmeisterschaften, landesbestes Eiscafé, mit Machern, die voller Hingabe echte Handwerkskunst hochgehalten und die Menschen berührt haben.

Doch nun sind die Jalousien unten, das Fenster am Verkaufstresen bleibt geschlossen. Wahrscheinlich für immer. Was bleibt, ist eine unglaublich traurige Geschichten dahinter - über Liebe, Familie, Krankheit und unverhoffte Wendungen, die Leben umkrempeln, und eine Stadt, die langsam innerlich verwaist.

Schlamm drüber! Für einen Vormittag haben wir uns wieder in ganz besondere Sonntagskleidung geworfen. Nun gut, geworfen haben wir uns am Ende vor allem in den Schlamm. Oder sind hineingerutscht. In Sportklamotten. Und haben uns dabei erneut in wandelnde Ganzkörper-Fangopackungen verwandelt. Gubbeltriefende Gestalten, einbalsamiert in zentimeterdicke Matsch-Schichten – beim „Vull Wat Manns Loop“ von @spassmitsport rund um die Kiesgrube Hartema in Siebenbergen, am Rand von Leer.

Jeder verliert Eleganz, jeder gewinnt Selbstironie, jeder hilft jedem. Steckt irgendwer im hüfttiefen Matschpfuhl fest oder schafft es nicht allein über die großen glitschigen Heuballen, sind sofort helfende Hände da.
Nun mögen wir bei tbd grundsätzlich flache Hierarchien, Augenhöhe, enges Miteinander. Doch der Schlamm verschluckt auch den letzten Rest Rangordnung.

Ob Chef oder nicht: Wer gerade in Reichweite ist, bekommt gern noch eine Portion Matsch ab. Diese soziale Flacherdung ist entwaffnend und schweißt zusammen. Insbesondere, wenn man selbst dreckiger ist als die Lache. Schon jetzt freuen wir uns drauf, uns im nächsten Jahr von Neuem dreckig zu machen.
