A little re-introduction, for those who are new here. Hi, I’m Delphine McPhilimey, founder and perfumer behind Olfactora. My work combines traditional perfumery techniques with a deep appreciation for natural ingredients, sustainability, craftsmanship and thoughtful design. That philosophy is at the heart of everything we do at @olfactora Our Natural Perfume Workshops aren’t simply about making a perfume to take home. They’re designed like a perfumery masterclass, where you’ll learn how perfumers actually think, evaluate materials, and construct a balanced fragrance. For those wanting to take things further, our two-day Foundations of Natural Perfumery Course is designed for aspiring perfumers, creatives and entrepreneurs who want a deeper understanding of the craft. Beyond education, I also collaborate with brands to create meaningful olfactive experiences. From bespoke fragrances for products and spaces, to customer scent activations, retail team education and fragrance consulting, my goal is always the same: to create scent experiences that feel authentic, memorable and deeply connected to a brand’s identity. I truly believe fragrance is one of the most powerful yet underused tools for storytelling. Thank you for being here and for supporting this journey. Before we create a scent, we choose the ingredients. 🌿 At Olfactora, that selection shapes both the palette you explore in our workshops and the fragrances we design for bespoke clients. We consider where each material comes from, how it’s produced and what we know about its environmental profile, alongside its suitability for the intended use and what it brings to a fragrance. Cruelty free always. One year ago today, I picked up the keys to what would become Olfactora Perfume Studio 💙 Before the workshops, the fragrances and the finishing touches, there were boxes to unpack, furniture to assemble and a one-year-old keeping me company along the way. A little look back at what Pinterest doesn’t show you: the work behind creating a beautiful space, while building a business and caring for a young child. Since opening, we’ve welcomed you almost every weekend, brought bespoke fragrances to life and made so many beautiful memories. There’s still so much I want to do, but today I’m taking a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come. Too busy to organise a birthday party this year, so we’ll celebrate properly in the new year! Yesterday, we brought scent into a retail space for our first in-store Scent Bar ✨ A big thank you to the team at @diamond.collective for inviting us to create a bespoke scent experience for the launch of their latest jewellery collection. For the occasion, we designed a Sustainable Scent Bar where guests could explore fragrance, personalise their scent and leave with a complimentary bespoke perfume created on the day. At the heart of the experience was our curated palette of fine fragrance materials, with a particular focus on beautiful botanical extracts and thoughtfully selected sustainable ingredients, bringing the quality and craftsmanship of fine perfumery into an interactive setting. Scent can be such a beautiful way to add another sensory layer to a launch, celebration or in-store experience, creating something guests can interact with, remember, and take home with them. Our Scent Bars can be tailored to suit your brand, space and event, from the fragrance concept and ingredient palette through to the finished perfumes. Our October + November Natural Perfume Workshop dates are now live 🌿 These will be our final workshops for 2026, as I’ll be away in Europe for the month of December. Over the weekend, I welcomed seven students into the Olfactora studio for our Foundations of Natural Perfumery intensive. Some travelled from Singapore, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and regional WA to join us here in Perth. Many arrived at the very beginning of their perfumery journey and left two days later with so much more knowledge, clarity and confidence! Not to mention their own beautiful creations. It is always such a privilege to share everything I know about natural and sustainable perfumery with people who are genuinely curious and passionate about this craft. Thank you to this wonderful group for trusting me to guide you through it. As a member of the @asiaperfumefoundation Olfactora students also have the opportunity to receive the internationally recognised APF Level 1 certification once they’ve completed our training. Our next two-day Foundations of Natural Perfumery course will take place on 6–7 February 2027 at our studio in Perth, Western Australia.
