There is nothing quite like the magic of a shared knitting project to bring a community together. With that spirit in mind, we are absolutely thrilled to launch this Knit-Along, featuring the stunning design by Olga Putano knitted entirely in our signature Tibetan Cloud.

By focusing on Tibetan Cloud, this KAL highlights the incredible story of our wool and offers a truly rewarding knitting experience.

Today is the day! My second book - Field Notes, is out in the world 🎉

To say that I am excited is the biggest understatement of my knitting pattern designer career. The feeling I have today can’t be put into words. Since the time when @laine_magazine published their first books, a quiet yet certain dream was born in my heart. I felt silly to even dream of such a thing - I was just a baby designer at the time.

Because of you and your support over the years, I was able to reach this goal. I literally couldn’t have done it without your pattern purchases, kind words and encouragement. I hope that this book makes you feel like you contributed to it, because you 100% did ❤️

If you ordered Field Notes, it should be landing in your mailbox any day now! As I packaged up your orders I couldn’t believe how far my work has reached, knitting has allowed me to make friends all over the world - isn’t that so cool?! I am so grateful for this sweet little community - that really isn’t that little at all ☺️

✨Olga’s Purse✨

The second pattern I designed for the @myak_fibers retreat in Gavi, Italy last week. I used their most beautiful Tibetan Cloud Wool, in a tighter gauge than its sister pattern - Olga’s Jacket, to make the fabric sturdy, appropriate for a purse. It’s a quick project that will teach you a lot of the techniques used in Olga’s Jacket, with videos to help you along the way.

The pattern will make its debut on Ravelry, Etsy and my website soon! Are you coming to A Woolen Affair next week? Come shop yarn, see the purse (and me?) at the @myak_fibers booth! Days/times TBA!

Last week was a dream come true. I think anyone who has attended a @myak_fibers knitting retreat would never be able to forget it, and I will hold the memories so close to my heart, forever. Great people (but it’s knitters so of course!), lots of my favorite yarn in everyone’s hands and the best food I’ve ever tasted!

Thank you Paola, Andrea and the whole @myak_fibers team who really know how to have a great time! And to each person who decided to come from near and far and spend time with us - thank you for coming!!!! I’m so grateful to have gotten a chance to meet know you, and for the genuine friendships I am walking away with from this experience. I hope you feel all of the heartwarming feelings I do! 🥰

And here comes the final strut… 🍇

Our Gavi KnitWalk comes to an end with one last parade of beautiful handmade creations, happy knitters, and a whole lot of mYak love.

What better way to close than with two Vigna sweaters — @olgaputanodesigns new beautiful design ?

Three reels later, you’ve now met all the fabulous ladies who took part in our little vineyard catwalk. And this is exactly why the KnitWalk has become such a beloved retreat tradition: it’s not really about the clothes.

It’s about the stories behind them, the stitches made along the way, the new friendships, the laughter, and that wonderful feeling of making something with your own hands — together.

The KnitWalk continues… 🍇

There were simply too many beautiful knits — and too many wonderful women — to squeeze into one reel!

So here’s Part 2 of our mYak KnitWalk, straight from the vineyards of Gavi, where our retreat with @olgaputanodesigns turned into an impromptu little celebration of color, creativity, and handmade style.

Some familiar mYak favorites, some Olga designs, some very clever combinations… and lots of very happy knitters showing off their work. ❤️

Because really, what’s the point of spending hours knitting something beautiful if you don’t get to walk it like you mean it?

And just like that… our Monferrato retreat with @olgaputanodesigns is a wrap.

A few unforgettable days at the stunning Villa Sparina , which has truly become a home away from home for us — thanks in no small part to their incredible team. ❤️

Rolling vineyards, beautiful surroundings, full bellies, wonderful workshops, lots (and lots) of laughs… and yes, the wine was definitely flowing. 🍷

We even went truffle hunting — because apparently knitting retreats can come with a few unexpected adventures!

But the best part? Watching a group of people who arrived as strangers slowly turn into new friends, sharing stories, stitches, ideas, wine and plenty of laughter along the way.

Our hearts (and definitely our bellies) are full.

Thank you to this wonderful group — and to Olga — for making these days so special.

Next up: the people, the knitting and some seriously beautiful things they made.

Make sure you want h to the end as someone is riding a chicken…🐓🐓
