BH the first month is behind us. 🤍

And what can I say? Time flies unbelievably fast.

So today, I want to wish myself one thing — to learn to slow down, cherish every moment of motherhood, and always remember what truly matters most.

Because I may have many projects, responsibilities, and goals. But there is one project, the most important of all, where no one can ever replace me.

God Himself chose our daughter’s name. 🤍

Some will call it a coincidence or fate. We believe this is exactly how God reveals His miracles in our world.

When we found out we were expecting a girl, the search for a name began. I loved Naomi, Yael, and few others. But none of them felt quite right. None made me think, “This is the one.”

And my absolute favorite name was Emily. But we wanted to give our daughter a Jewish name. I asked rabbit , searched for connections in Jewish history, and tried to find some reason to choose it. Unfortunately, without success.

My induction was scheduled for 8 PM. But just 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave, the hospital unexpectedly postponed our admission. First to 11 PM, and then to midnight.

After midnight, already at the hospital, I turned to my husband and said, “We’re about to meet our daughter, and she still doesn’t have a name.”

He told me he would be happy with whatever name I chose, but reminded me of a Jewish tradition — naming children after relatives who have passed away.

His grandmother’s name was Clara, and her Hebrew name was Chaya. His great-grandmother was Mirlya, whose Hebrew name was Miriam.

I already knew this, but for some reason, those names hadn’t felt like the ones.

And just five minutes later,
a young medical intern walked into our room. She had just started her night shift and, while passing by, heard us speaking differ language. She came in to introduce herself.

She was from Tashkent, incredibly sweet, and immediately offered to help us with anything we needed, including translation.
And then I noticed her name badge: Emily Steinberg.

My favorite name. And a Jewish last name.

With one last bit of hope, I asked her, “Emily is my absolute favorite name! Tell me, is there any chance it’s actually Jewish?”

The rest of the story is in the comments ⤹

Bli ayin hara 🧿🤍
Our precious baby girl has entered this world.

There are no words to describe how grateful we are to Hashem for blessing us with this beautiful neshamah and entrusting us with the greatest gift of all.

May Hashem always watch over her and protect her. May He be merciful to her and bless her with good health, a long and beautiful life, happiness, love, and peace.

May Hashem guide every step she takes, surround her with good people, and fill her life with bracha, simcha, and endless light.

May we be blessed to watch her grow in health, happiness, wisdom, and goodness.

Welcome to the world, our little neshamah.
You are our greatest blessing. 🤍

It just so happens that today is Women’s Pregnancy Day, and I feel like it’s the perfect time to finally share a little about my own pregnancy.

I would hear women in their final weeks saying, “That’s it, I can’t do this anymore. I just want to give birth already.”

And I was the complete opposite.

Even two weeks before giving birth, I was thinking: No, no… can I have just a little more time?

I wanted so badly to make this chapter last longer.

I loved my belly. I felt incredibly feminine. I honestly don’t think I had ever felt more beautiful in my life.

And my husband deserves so much credit for that.

Throughout those months, he constantly told me how much pregnancy suited me, how beautiful I looked, how cute and perfect my little belly was. And when the person beside you looks at you that way, you really do begin to see yourself through their eyes.

And our baby was incredibly active.

She kicked constantly. She kept me awake. She had a whole separate life happening in there.

But I loved every single kick.

Because every little kick meant: She’s here. She’s with me.

And I knew that very soon, I would even miss those sleepless nights.

I think another reason I was able to enjoy my pregnancy so much was because I really protected my mindset.

I didn’t want to listen to endless scary stories.

I didn’t want to project other women’s birth experiences onto myself.

I didn’t want to spend nine months waiting for something to go wrong.

I truly believe that during pregnancy, it’s so important to be mindful of what you allow into your head. by @olha_roman

9 months of keeping the biggest secret of my life. And now I don’t even know where to begin telling this story.

Maybe I should start with why I stayed quiet for so long.

I didn’t tell almost anyone about my pregnancy. For some time, even our parents didn’t know.

And it wasn’t because I wanted to create suspense or make some big pregnancy announcement one day.

Quite the opposite.

I’ve always felt that pregnancy is such a delicate, sentimental, and deeply personal time that I simply didn’t want to share it with the whole world.

It was our miracle.

Mine, my husband’s, and Hashem’s.

For a while, it truly felt like the three of us were living inside this little world of happiness, and I wanted to keep it within our family for as long as possible.

I also really connect with the way pregnancy is approached in Jewish tradition. Instead of the usual “Congratulations,” people often say B’sha’ah tovah — “at a good time,” or “may everything happen at the right and good time.”

Because until you’re actually holding your baby in your arms, you simply put your trust in Hashem, pray, and hope that everything will go well.

So I didn’t want to spend those months showing my pregnancy.

I wanted to live it. by @olha_roman
