It’s moments like these that remind us that united in purpose our community is unstoppable.

When our spaces fell under threat, we stood up, we laughed, we cooked, we danced, and most importantly, we showed the world what our home means to us.

That is the Brixton way. ✊❤️ taken in Brixton, London, UK by @oliochi_

Brixton is more than just a location; it’s our culture, our childhood memories, and our community. 🇯🇲🇬🇧

Right now, Brixton Village is under threat from private developers, and we could lose the heart of what makes this place so special. But we have a rare opportunity to buy it back as a community. ✊🏾

We need EVERYONE to show up and represent. Let’s make history together!

The side of politics they don’t show you on the news. 🚌🌹

It’s easy to look at manifestos and speeches, but the real work happens on the pavement. 5 AM alarms, long coach rides, and genuine, unfiltered conversations on the doorstep.

Connecting with people outside your usual bubble is the most grounding reminder that despite our differences, most of us are looking for the exact same solutions. Politics is a marathon, not a sprint, but days like this make the mileage worth it.

Shoutout to everyone who makes these movements happen, keeps the energy high, and looks after the crew along the way. 🌹🤝🔋

That last couple months have been unlike any other.🌹

We might have missed out by just 30 votes, but look at what we built. We brought politics back to the doorstep, where it belongs. This is just the beginning of a new chapter for our community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and believed in a better future for London. We’re not done yet. Stay tuned. 🌍✨

Each hour out in Waterloo tomorrow is worth a month campaigning, that’s why each and every one of you reading this, who takes that leap to support me, will be the reason why we win this campaign.

Let us show this city who we are and that we’re here to stay!

🌟 What a brilliant morning in Waterloo & Southbank! 🌟

Delighted to welcome the brilliant Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy to the iconic Old Vic Theatre right here in our ward today.

We had a fantastic discussion about the power of arts and culture to transform lives, create jobs, and bring our community together.

The Old Vic has been a cultural heartbeat of Waterloo for over 200 years – and under this Labour Government, we’re making sure our world-class venues get the support they deserve.

Huge thanks to Lisa and the whole team for delivering the Arts Everywhere Fund – including the recent Creative Foundations Fund that is investing millions into repairing and upgrading cultural venues across the country, with £10 million going to our neighbours at the Southbank Centre.

From the stunning new Backstage building at the Old Vic (backed by Lambeth Labour) to major investment in the Southbank Centre, we’re protecting heritage, boosting access for everyone, and putting culture at the heart of our local economy and community.

This is what real change looks like: investing in the places that make our communities special and ensuring arts and culture are accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Proud to be part of a Labour movement that delivers for Waterloo & South Bank. 💙🎭
