There’s something extra special about giving a gift you made with your own hands.

Join us this October as we welcome Jennifer of Olio Skin to the Folk School for Handcrafted Holiday Soap Making!

Jennifer will guide us through the traditional art of cold-process soap making, from choosing scents and colors to adding botanicals and natural exfoliants. You’ll create approximately 1.5 pounds of your very own soap—enough for about eight guest-size bars!

And the timing couldn’t be better. By making your soap in October, it will have plenty of time to cure before the holidays, ready to wrap up with a little ribbon and tuck into stockings or give to someone special.

We love bringing back practical, beautiful skills that were once part of everyday life, and soap making is certainly one of them.

There’s several different ways to soap with us through the fall and into the new year!

Coming right up is our Annual @waste_less_solutions soap class where YOU pick the veggies you want in your soap and juice them right there. On olioskin.com under Olio Education.

Find us soaping with @handcraft.revival end of October, tickets are on their website over at HandCraftRevival.com. Their online calendar is up to date with just about any kind of craft class you can image.

We’re also teaching with @slcpursuitco!!!!! Community Education is the fountain of youth! We are on @slcpursuitco roster teaching soap, masks, and more!

We are also booking private experiences. With you and at least 6 of your closest friends, we can have a class tailored just to your group. DM for dates.

MAKE YOURSELF ROSY MASK

This floral fusion will calmly and effectively absorb excess facial oil while purifying the skin. Use it before bed for optimal results; afterwards, apply Olio’s Herbal Evening Serum.

Additionally, it can serve as a spot treatment: for blemishes, lightly dab the mask on and leave it overnight.

For oily to combination skin, use the mask 2-3 times a week, and 1-2 times a week for dry or sensitive skin. Mix 1/2 tsp. of powder and 1/2 tsp. of liquid into a paste, apply to a wet face, exfoliate, then let sit for 8-10 minutes. Remove with a warm, damp cloth.

Mix with Olio Face & Body Oil, Water, Rose Water, Tea, Apple Cider Vinegar, Honey, Egg, Coconut Water, mashed banana, avocado, etc. This organic, gluten-free, vegan mask can also be used as a cleanser or spot treatment.
