101. 🔥

A beautiful gift from my brother and roommate @nate_swart to mark completing 101 days substance-free.

Funny that it’s a lighter 😂 but for me, it represents something completely different: the fire, discipline and clarity that came from the journey.

Engraved with 101 so I’ll always remember what those 101 days taught me.

Thank you brother. This one means a lot. 🤍 by @olivergrimbly

The people around us matter.

Genuine connection with someone is different. It means having people in your life you can be yourself with, talk to honestly and turn to when things aren’t going well.

That kind of connection takes time and you have to make space to cultivate it.

Strong relationships matter.

𝗡𝗢 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝟭𝟬𝟭 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦.

Earlier this year I realised something:

𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁.

Not because my life was falling apart, but because I could feel how easy it had become to live in constant stimulation.

Alcohol. Nicotine. Substances. Sex. Social media. Late nights. Dopamine. Distraction.

So I asked myself:

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁?

I committed to 90 days with no alcohol, recreational substances, nicotine or casual sex, and far less noise and social media.

In their place: movement, prayer, meditation, journaling, nature, stillness, creativity, purpose and God.

Then I thought:

If I need this reset, surely other men in my brotherhood need it too.

So I started the 90-Day Masculine Clarity Reset.

A small group of men came together to remove distractions, confront habits, rebuild discipline and get clearer on who we are and what we’re here to do.

We checked in. We challenged each other. We gave each other our word.

𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.

There is immense power when men come together around a common goal, tell the truth, support one another and call each other higher.

The original commitment ended at 90 days, but I decided to keep going.

Then today my roommate @nate_swart checked the dates and pointed something out…

Apparently my maths wasn’t quite mathing. 😂

I thought Thursday was Day 100.

Turns out…

𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭𝟬𝟭. 😂🙏

Over the coming months I’ll share more about what we learned, and next year I plan to open another program for men wanting to break chains of addiction and distraction, rebuild discipline, reconnect with God, purpose and brotherhood, and live with greater clarity, freedom and intention.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭𝟬𝟭. 🙏

I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve officially been selected to represent Team South Africa 🇿🇦 at the ITF Masters World Championships in Japan this November 🎾🇯🇵

Unlike some countries where players receive financial support, our South African Masters team is largely responsible for covering the costs of getting to Japan ourselves — including travel, accommodation and team expenses.

I’ve launched a BackaBuddy campaign to help support both my journey and our team’s campaign to represent South Africa on the world stage.

Any contribution, big or small, or simply sharing the campaign would mean a lot to us.

Thanks! 🙏🇿🇦

Tonight on our men’s call, one of the brothers shared that he recently lost his father. Another lost his father just over a year ago.

It was a powerful reminder that none of us know how much time we have with the people we love.

So today, I’m feeling deeply grateful that I still have my dad in my life.

Happy Father’s Day to my amazing father. ❤️

Thank you for your love, your guidance, your lessons, your strength, and for always being there. I am grateful for you beyond words.

And to everyone whose fathers are no longer here in the physical, know that love never dies. Their teachings live on through you, and their presence remains with you in spirit.

May we honour them not only with our words, but with the way we live our lives.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and men who have helped guide the next generation. 🙏❤️ by @olivergrimbly

Earlier I smudged the space, lit a candle to honour the plant spirit, felt into its presence, and pulled cards for the messages it wished to share with us.

The plant spoke of the transference of divinity into the material, like spiritual gold melting into the world of darkness, lighting it up with presence and beauty for those who pass by. An energy that gently stops people in their tracks, inviting them to notice, to feel, to soften, to remember joy.

The energy of flowers is pure life force. Flowers create fruit, life that gives more life to those who receive it. Eating fruit is a transference of divine energy. I was shown flowers blooming across a meadow, pockets of the divine shooting through the earthly plane, little gifts from oneness scattered everywhere.

Specifically for us, the flower brings hope and inspiration in moments that feel confusing, dreary, or subdued. Gentle reminders that the little things are the biggest things. That the present moment is the whole point. That beauty and joy are the whole point, simply because they are divine.

The more beauty and joy we create and share, the more divine we become.. servants of light. The flower’s bloom reconnects us to oneness, bleeding divinity into our lives through the pure joy of its presence. The spirit of the plant wishes for us to hold so much joy that it naturally overflows, letting divinity spill into the lives around us, effortlessly. #sanpedro #huachuma #floweressence by @olivergrimbly

Reflections 🌊
Metaphysical interpretation of Proverbs 22:4

Humility isn’t weakness, it’s alignment.
When the ego softens and the heart bows in reverence to something greater, life begins to flow.

True riches are born inwardly.
Honor is carried as integrity, not chased as approval.
And life becomes more than survival… it becomes vitality.

Lower the ego.
Raise the signal.
Let the current carry you.
