Two years of dreaming, one very old RV, and all of Grandma Vanda's love later… we're FINALLY opening. 🚐

Come find us next Saturday, October 3rd, 8am–3pm at @tosathrift Dollar Bin Day! We couldn't have picked a better first home. The Other Side's stores help people rebuild their lives, and their motto says it all: "You save money. We save lives."

Dear MALS…

Becoming your mom brought me into some of the hardest seasons of my life. There were times when I felt completely overwhelmed.

But the older you get, the more I understand how lucky I was to hold the earliest version of exactly who you were always meant to be.

You were never meant to be held still. You were meant to move, climb, explore, touch everything, ask questions, and experience every inch of this world.

And now I get to watch you do exactly that.

You are bold, brave, adventurous, and enthusiastic in a way that draws people in.

You’ll climb anything and go on any roller coaster (they will let you on).

You will hold a truly interesting and amusing convo with any adult, trying out all the new words you’ve heard. I really hope you continue misusing some of them forever. 😭😂

One of my favorite things is the way you walk up to other kids and say, “Hi, want to be my friend?” And when they don’t answer, you try again: “What’s your name?”

And when that still doesn’t work, you lower the bar one more time: “Do you like my dress?”🥺

I think about that all the time.

You don’t wait for the world to invite you in. You jump 100% in, even when it means risking being ignored or let down.

Watching you has changed me.

You have made me braver and unafraid to work hard for my dreams.

You are the reason I believed I could build something of my own.

Because of you, I can walk up to strangers, ask for what I need, get rejected, and do it again.

Of course I built Vandas for you, but I also built it because of you.

And next week, Vandas actually opens. After getting to witness so many of your milestones, you get to see one of mine.

I am so unbelievably proud of who you are.

I flew to San Francisco to celebrate both of my sisters’ birthdays and Father’s Day, and we ran a half marathon across the Golden Gate Bridge. 🌁

The best part wasn’t the finish line, it was getting to run every mile alongside my dad.

“I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger.”

The older I get, the more I realize it’s times like these that become the memories you carry with you. Running has become such a positive part of my life, and getting to share it with the people I love makes it even better.

I’ve got one strong willed, fiercely independent, high energy, fearless little girl. She just came out that way… in the delivery room she was already looking around, clocking everyone there, and she was always trying to wiggle out of my arms as a newborn.

Honestly, it felt like she cried NONSTOP until she could finally crawl and explore, because that’s all she ever wanted to do. She has such a strong determination to experience everything around her. On the rare occasion something seems scary to her, she wants to face it head on anyway. If she gets hurt, she brushes it off immediately and is ready to go again. It’s honestly mind-blowing, and wow… it is exhausting trying to keep up with her!!

But I wouldn’t change a single thing, because she is a force to be reckoned with. I can already tell there is just no holding this girl back in life. I am the luckiest that I get to be her mom and witness all of her extraordinary gifts, spunk, and spark. And honestly, she gives me so much drive and confidence to go after the things I want too.

I have so much gratitude for getting to be her mom, and I will always try my best to show up for her in the way she deserves. by @olivia_fit_tips

Took a plane ride, my sister took an overnight bus, and then we rented a car to drive 3 hours to Bisbee just to say happy birthday to Cole! He’s kinda a big deal and so loved by his friends!

Built this little mobile coffee & soda shop with a whole latte love, long days, espresso shots, and help from the most amazing people ☕️✨

I wanted Vandas to feel warm, nostalgic, and full of life - just like my grandma Vanda who welcomed everyone into her home with warm baked goods, youthful energy, unconditional love and kindness.

Went to California a normal person and came back a full blown Disney mom. Seeing Amalya have the most thrilling, exhilarating day of her life so far (besides being born, of course) was all my heart needed to burst into a million Minnie pieces 🎀. Amalya was in her element with an entire entourage of adults following her around and taking on every ride like a fearless queen.
