Terrane, with Sarah Hardesty and Lisa Perez, is on view through October 9 at Marymount University’s Cody Gallery (Arlington, VA)!

This is my first time showing in VA/the DC area and I hope you can join us for the artist talk on Thursday, October 1 at 4 pm (Ballston Center Auditorium), followed by a 5-7 pm reception in the gallery.

“In this exhibition, Olivia Baldwin, Sarah Hardesty, and Lisa Perez consider terrane—a block of the earth’s crust
formed on one tectonic plate and later amassed on another of differing materials—as a metaphor for
explorations of nature, time, memory, and materiality in their abstract sculptures, drawings, and paintings.“

Many thanks to Mary Proenza ( @maryproenza ), Sarah Hardesty ( @hardestyart ) and Lisa Perez (@lperezoo ).

ReFrame, featuring @adriaarch @toryfairsculpture @annakristinagoransson @kateholcombhale and me, is now on view at the @oldschwambmill in Arlington, MA. ReFrame is curated by @adriaarch . This is my first time exhibiting in my hometown, and I’m thrilled to show with these artists and within this space (check out the @oldschwambmill ‘s beautiful wooden oval frames). The opening reception is a week from Saturday, September 26, from 2-3:30 pm. I’d love to see you!

It feels particularly special to show this work so close to where I grew up, and so close to where I first found the small rolls of leather that have shaped my work of the past couple of years. The leather was my mother’s and I found it in my stepdad’s attic, less than a mile from the Mill, a few years after she passed. I felt charged to use it.

The first image features a new sawhorse, my most minimal to date, with some of my mother’s silver leather, given to her when a friend of a friend’s accessory business closed. It’s called “Workhorse (for Croskey women),” to honor the long line of tireless women in our family. It came quickly in the days following Dolly Parton’s death. It called for silver.

Reframe is on view through November 14.
Artist Panel on Saturday, October 24, 2-3:30 pm
Closing Reception: November 14, 2-3:30 pm

Special thank you to @anpelletier21 for giving me this perfect sawhorse found in her grandmother’s basement. taken in Old Schwamb Mill by @oliviaebaldwin

CLOSING EVENT: Sunday, March 8, 2026
1:30-3:30 pm

Join us Sunday, March 8th for our closing event for our current exhibitions. We will be presenting readings by poet and essayist Emily Pittinos and poet and visual artist Kylie Gellatly. These readings have been selected by exhibiting artist Olivia Baldwin.

During this event, Barbara Owen will release her limited edition silkscreen, “Underlap and Overlap.” A limited edition of 15 unframed prints are available for purchase now on our website (link in bio.) The prints may be received at, or after, the release party. @babsowen
“”Underlap and Overlap”, a small edition silkscreen was developed alongside the works in this exhibition and extends my use of the grid as a compositional tool. Here, the grid operates as both structure and surface—sometimes singular, sometimes all-over—while shapes are woven through it to create depth, rhythm, and movement.” - Barbara Owen

Image #5: “Vinegar” poetry collage by Kylie Gellatly

Kylie Gellatly is the author of The Fever Poems (Finishing Line Press). Her work has appeared in Fence, Ninth Letter, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. Kylie has received support from the Vermont Studio Center, Juniper Writing Institute, and Disquiet International Literary Program.
@kyliehaylightly

Emily Pittinos is a Great Lakes poet and essayist teaching in Providence, RI. Pittinos has received a 2022 Literature Fellowship from the Idaho Commission on the Arts, as well as support from Vermont Studio Center, the Alexa Rose Foundation, and Washington University in St. Louis, where she served as the Senior Fellow in Poetry. Her recent work appears, or will soon appear, in Academy of American Poets’ poem-a-day, Bennington Review, New England Review, Poetry Society of America, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and elsewhere. She is the author of Animal, Roadkill, Ashes, Gone (essays), (Bull City Press, 2022), as well as The Last Unkillable Thing (University of Iowa Press, 2021), which was a winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize and a finalist for a 2022 Midwest Book Award.
