We’re so excited to introduce our next newbie for our Pride and No Prejudice show. We are bringing the compelling @oloritolewa . As with all our newbies, she’ll be opening the second half of the show, and you do not want to miss this.

Olori to Lewa first stepped into the spotlight at the @auroranova_burlesque Student Showcase in 2025, where her debut act caught our attention immediately. Since then, she’s continued to grow and shine, performing at Frieda Nipples show and competing at Star Search 2026, steadily carving out her space in the cabaret world.

Her act, Pretty Brown Skin Girl, is a powerful exploration of what it is to be a Black woman in predominantly white spaces and how perception doesn’t always align with self.

We’re honoured to give her the stage to share this act with us all.

Obsessed with this @auroranova_burlesque choreo from her Veil Fans Burlesque Course. Was so much fun doing a veil fan routine with such wildly different energy from my own routine.

If you want the chance to see my debut veil fan act Pretty Brown Skin Girl, I am performing it again on Saturday 14Mar26 at the Corn Exchange in Doncaster in the Star Search competition produced by the fabulous @theboobytrapburlesque

I’ve loved Beginner + heels classes with @sophiepopplewell, you can see the how much fun I had doing this dance all over my face.

Hopefully I’ll be posting more vids to the grid this year!

Also, shout out to the youngun who took this vid for me. The way she went straight into director mode was so cute and seriously made the vid for me 🥰

Pals I’ve had a pretty stellar year. Travelled with family and friends, visited 2 new countries, first trip with my cutest little buddy.
Achieved a bunch of professional goals, finally met my coworkers in person and became a co-lead for the EMEA Black ERG.
Created Olori to Lewa and debuted my first act Pretty Brown Skin Girl. Deepened my love of dance with new classes and new friends.

It’s wild because I was so certain my 30s would be boring and “adulty” but honestly every year is better than then last.

Thank you to my family and friends for helping this be a truly spectacular year. I’m soooo excited for what 33 has to offer. by @oloritolewa

On the 15th August 2025, I debuted my first solo act as Olori to Lewa.

I am an amateur dancer who has spent the last few years taking classes with @auroranova_burlesque, having previously performed in the group routines for the Aurora Nova Student Showcase, in 2025 I decided to join the Solo Mentoring course.

Under the mentorship of Aurora, I developed this act over ~3 months. I’m eternally grateful for all her guidance I’m the creation of this piece as well as her introducing me to the multiple forms of dancing that influenced my work.

This piece is choreographed entirely by me, and the costume was created and designed by two of my best friends Olivia and Leah. The fabric being the aso oke from my mother’s family at my parents wedding in Nigeria in 1987, adding another layer to this performance.

It brings me great pride to share my hard work here, and I hope those watching enjoy and understand this expression of my Black Womanhood and the beauty of all that it is.

✨Out of the darkness, into the spotlight ✨

So much goes into putting together a solo act. Eternally grateful to @auroranova_burlesque for all her work over the those weeks in the Solo Mentoring Course (and years of classes honestly), developing me as a dancer, performer and now, solo act. This was my second time performing at Aurora Nova’s Student Showcase, and I hope it showed just how far I’ve come over the years.

I was a little bit thrown by people’s incredibly positive feedback after the show, I really didn’t get it. Whilst I knew I’d done well, the reaction felt like a lot for how I thought I looked. And then I saw these photos. Lighting truly transformed my act and I am so proud of how my vision came across and how @carriageworkstheatre staff executed.

Olori to Lewa - Beautiful Queen

Over the past few months, under the tutelage of @auroranova_burlesque, I’ve been working on a piece expressing the beauty at the core of my existence. If you get to see it, I hope you see me for all I am. It’s been a hard and emotional journey, but also left me feeling extremely self-assured and fulfilled. I truly love to dance. And through the nerves and anxiety, I DO enjoy performing. I’m so looking forward to sharing this with the world. Eternally grateful to Aurora for this opportunity, that’s made even better by the fact I’m also performing her killer choreo for the Commercial Burlesque and Sexy Floorwork groups.
Pray I don’t trip and my heels and I hope to see you there!

Whilst my high school years were spent in dance clubs and performing at the annual movement evening, when I joined uni, the lack of dance society meant Cheer was my only option.

So began 8 years of blood, sweat and tears, friendships to last a lifetime and a whole lot of winning. A performance rarely existed outside of competition and we weren’t only marked on dance but through all this I learnt how to smile through the pain and squeeze every last drop of energy onto that mat.

Whether it’s competing or coaching, cheer will always hold a place in my heart.
