If nature teaches us anything, it should be that, like the calendar year, life happens in seasons. Each season serves its purpose. Nothing is random, or inconsequential. But it’s all crafted with intention by a wise creator. Everything given an appointed time, to fall to rise, to bloom to hide. It’s just up to us to see the beauty in the rain, and in the sun too.

Have you listened to Bright and beautiful yet? The fans (aka my mum, @isokenaruede and @ehinicholas ) are saying it’s their best Oludee song yet. 😂

On a real though, this year for me is about getting into my artist tempo, growing into my craft, and figuring out what expressions translate the message of truth the best. Call it the Oludee Pilot season, I guess. So keep the feedback coming, k? Thanks

The truth is….
I hate waiting.
No not completely. I can wait, I just don’t like waiting for an unknown amount of time.
In queues, on the phone- (this also explains my tardiness because I aim to get to places at the last possible minute and end up being late, haha 😂 )
But I’ve recently seen how this translates into faith: I hate trusting God. (No sugar coating, although maybe a past tense is more relevant )
Because there is almost always a waiting period between, the spoken promise, and the promise made flesh.
So I call it what it is now. I hate waiting for a future I cannot control- short or long term. When my actions do little to hasten the results of my desire.
But life seldom gives you a choice. When it comes to some matters , you will wait. How you wait will determine if you pass through that period better off. Will you wait, seeking alternative routes to your destination? And then have a bit of your hope stripped away at every dead end? Or will you wait, patiently, looking to a Heavenly Father, who says he is watchfully caring for your life, moving at his direction? These days, I have been choosing the latter, initially for peace of mind, but increasingly because I’ve seen it is actually the better way to secure my hopes.

I wrote this song in 2023. When I had reached the obvious conclusion, that Jesus had to be the source of it all. Every ambition, every expectation, every hope, every desire, every blessing. No exceptions. I went on a study on abiding. I knew the word, but I knew restlessness more. The choleric in me no sabi stay one place. This song was birthed in the midst of this. Jesus is the vine, bearing fruit is easy when you stay connected. It’s still a journey, it will always be moving from one level of rest to another. But it’s one I’m so glad to be on.

Welcome to the Listening Room, where I share snippets of songs I have written on a whim. Live from my bedroom. 😊😊😬😬🤭

In between official releases this year, I’ll be sharing bits and bobs from my song book, the literal pages of my life.

First off is ‘Bloom’ a song I wrote to my self last year. The first draft of this was more ballad-y; but I decided to speed it up and add a groovy baseline.
